Extra Charge for Partial Shipping

Recommended Posts

I use FedEx and UPS for shipping. I want to give my customers an option to choose partial shipping so that if part of their order is out of stock we will ship what we have now and the rest when it is availible. this way they can choose whether or not they want to wait for everything to be availible before it is shipped or not.

Ideally I would like it to add a charge for this.

Has anyone done this or know how?

There is no concept of a delivery in OSC, everything is regarded as a single shipment to a single shipping address.

To enable this you would need to have a proper inventory management system which that is able to accurately calculate product availability dates. These dates are then added to a delivery document which can determine the minimum number of shipments and hence enable to you calculate any extra charges

I wrote up detailed instructions on how to do this here:

It doesn't automatically add a charge to the order, but you can advise your customers that there will be an additional shipping charge.
