Zones shipping based on state instead of country

It's not difficult to set up a zone or zones that include multiple states or provinces, and as far as MVS is concerned I'm pretty sure it uses the same zone info that a standard osC install does.

 

Just go to Admin->Locations/Taxes->Tax Zones->insert the new tax zone you want to create->Once it's created, select it from the list of zones and click on the "details" button->from there you can use the "insert" function to insert as many states, provinces, etc, that you want. You can create any number of zones this way.

Do, or do not. There is no try.

Is this the way that shipping zones are also defined for the Per Item and Table Rate shipping modules??? or is it some other way???

The Knowledge Base seems to give no direction or explanation.
