sorry, I should've checked out the user guide page first!! Stupid myself.

But, just run into some setting questins......about settings:

If you use an non-US eBay site, change the eBay NPB Alert URL and the eBay Final Value Fee Credit URL accordingly.

How and what should i change if i am live in canada and the site is origin in Canada?

also about the "Auction Checkout URL and the Auction Upload URL"....will it be wrong to set in the SSL link address?? like https://www......................

or as long as i set the link address right no matter i set it in secured or not???

Thank you so much again

To Anthony: This is my favorite Contribution yet, thank so much!

To Everyone: I'd like to dress up my emails from this using some HTML. I've tried to do it but only messed it up. Is there anyone here that can tell me if this can or can't be done and if so how do I do it?

Again, thanks for the great contribution

hoschi0306,

Your problems are not being caused by eBay Auction Sales Manager. Please get your installation stable, and then follow the instructions exactly and you will achieve success.

Paris,

Currently, PayPal IPN 0.981 works well with EAM. Others, may be using the PayPal shopping cart IPN contribution. I prefer to use this one, and will soon have a release that has total integration with the PayPal shopping cart IPN contribution.

Naomi,

I'll keep looking into your mapping issue

All,

Yes, sorting and searching will be soon. Maybe in the PayPal release.

markchiu,

You may use SSL, BUT there's no reason NOT to use non-SSL for the auction upload URL. It saves processing resources and we're not sending any real private information.

rmyles,

You can use HTML for emails, but you need to be sure to escape your embedded quotes. I was working on an email manager that provides a nice interface for editing emails, but have put it on hold while I finish up the PayPal integration and the eBay lister.

Hi, Anthony, thank you for telling. However, I just run into another problem..I seem not able to find the link of auction_sales.php page when I click on auction sales checkout....the link it showed me is:

http://www.yadyshop.com/admin/FILENAME_AUC..._SALES?status=4

however, I didn't change anything from the auction.php page!! and yet, all new php pages from the "NEW Files", were all uploaded into the admin already, but somehow the system, itself can't find the filename called auction_sales.php?????? ;) ;)

my oscommerce is 2.2MS2

Hi, gee I am embarrased, but I don't know why when I set this url to be my auction checkout url

http://yadyshop.com/auction_finder.php

it shows me these warnings......

Warning: main(includes/languages/english/FILENAME_AUCTION_FINDER): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/yadyshop/public_html/auction_finder.php on line 49

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'includes/languages/english/FILENAME_AUCTION_FINDER' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/yadyshop/public_html/auction_finder.php on line 49

I have run into the same type question, but forgot the most what to do.......... :(

Hi again,

I've changed catalog/english.php and admin/english.php to look like this in order to add some html to the emails:

define('INVOICE_EMAIL_SUBJECT', 'Thank you for your purchase of: %AUCTION_TITLE%');
         define('INVOICE_EMAIL_BODY', '"<html><body><p align="left"><img border="0" src="http://www.talespinners.ca/images/Talespinners_email.jpg" width="235" height="90"></p></body></html>"'
. "Thank you for your <b>%STORE_NAME%</b> purchase of:\n\n%AUCTION_TITLE%.\n\nPlease complete the checkout process using the following link:\n\n%AUCTION_CHECKOUT_LINK%\n\n"
. "This checkout ensures the accuracy of your order and allows us to complete your order much faster.  "
. "We currently accept Money Orders, Cashier's Checks, and Paypal.\n\n"
 . "Sincerely,\n%STORE_NAME% Customer Service\n%STORE_OWNER_EMAIL_ADDRESS%");

For some reason it completely ignores the image but everthing else stays the same. How do I get it to recognize the image?

Am I missing something obvious?

Thanks

This means that you did not make the changes in /catalog/includes/filenames.php. You need to make all of the changes mentioned in CHANGES_MS2.txt.

Anthony,

Thanks for the reply. You are the man! First of all, I am running an older version of OSC I believe it's 2.1. So, I guess I would need to upgrade. I am a bit afraid of upgrading since I have been able to get everything run at almost a 100%. I did hacks over two years ago that I don't remember. Even the forum is different here and my posts are no longer listed. And I am not really sure how to upgrade. I really need to look into that. But I did read through some of this thread yesterday and I did see your recommendation of PayPal IPN and when I did read the thread on PayPal IPN I noticed there were a lot of problems with that contribution. So, I backed-off on adding it. Nevertheless, I really like your contribution and I have to decide what is the best thing to do. Upgrade? Add Paypal IPN? And your contribution. Or should I possibly wait for your next release?

Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again for all your hard work. If it does all work out and I am able to use it I don't mind donating to your contribution.

I have to decide what is the best thing to do. Upgrade? Add Paypal IPN?

Phase 1: The most prudent thing to do at this point is to bite the bullet and upgrade your osCommerce version to 2.2 MS2. Add the necessary changes and contributions to get your store back to where it is today.

Phase 2: By the time you complete this activity, a EAM/PayPal combination will have been released to meet your needs. You could consider installing EAM after you complete phase 1 so that you get familiar with the system. (You don't have to list on eBay or accept checkouts through it immediately.) I've always included upgrade instructions from release to release.

Phase 3: Install EAM/PayPal combination.

Regards,

Anthony

Sorry...I'm no expert here since I've never actually tried it. Perhaps someone else could chime in.

All,

I am waiting on your comments regarding my earlier post on the new shipping requirements before I post the new version. Please give due consideration and reply so that I can post the new version and complete the next.

Thanks,

Anthony

No, my installation is stable - like I posted: clean install. Up and running fine.

After adding your contribution I got the errormessages. I figured out what caused the error number 2: When I make the changes in the readmefile that changes the values from shoppingcart into supercart.

As soon as I change it back, I have no problems anymore.

I don`t know why, but it seems that I can?t use your contribution. By the way, I still don?t know how it should work if it would work ;-).

After a complete reinstall (oscommerce + your contribution) with the same effect (=doesn`t work) I`m totally lost now...

Auctionblox,

Here are my comments, per your request:

I use the USPS (modified) shipping which allow me to select which USPS delivery options are shown to the customer. I have mine set at Priority for Domestic, and Priority or Express for International. I sell photographs, so a person could order 60 or so 4x6's before the domestic $3.85 shipping would be touched.

Let me make sure I understand this correctly:

If My OSC /modules/shipping/usps.php is set at the shipping I mentioned above, I will be able (with the shipping modification you mentioned) to offer say. free shipping, to ebay customers and it will over-ride what my store settings.......just for this specific sale?

The Fixed Shipping Per Product contribution will be released as BOTH a standalone contribution and integrated into the EAM.

Ok, Im getting a little confused......... Does this mean that we must set a shipping cost for each product in our store?

When it is integrated into EAM and used for eBay items, you MUST list your items in a certain way for the new shipping method to work. You no longer have the admin options for "Use osCommerce shipping for domestic/international shipments". It now uses the shipping method that you defined on your auction.

this sound good to me.

What this means to you:

1. If you want to offer free shipping, you must set the "Seller pays shipping" option on your listing

2. If you want to offer fixed shipping, you must set the "Buyer pay for shipping" AND set the cost that you want charged.

3. If you want to offer shipping through OSC, you do EITHER of the following:

A. Set "Buyer pays for shipping", set that you will specify shipping costs later. (Be sure to set the shipping costs and shipping additional costs to 0.0 anyway.)

B. Set "Buyer pays for shipping" and select "Calculated shipping"

this sound pretty easy to follow.

I currently have Paypal_IPN installed and working properly (no bugs!) You mentioned incorporating this with the next release, how will this effect those of us who already have Paypal_IPN contribution installed?

It will be GREAT to see these two EXCELLENT contributions working together!!!!!

Thank You!

Tammy

I have (from a complete rebuild) Paypal IPN1.7 working currently, with Master Products, and Easypopulate - my next steps are to integrate EAM with the Credit class for gift vouchers etc.

I notice in EAM that it requires changes to be made to the checkout_process.php file - which IPN no longer uses:

Is there a master list of changes which are needed with IPN 1.7 of which I can take advantage? Or should I wait for the 'coming soon' PP_IPN/EAM combo? - and how soon is soon?

Thanks.

Hi, guys and gals, and Anthony

Although I have installed this contribution and looked out the user guide short vision....I still can't quite figure it out totally that how this ebay sales manager is being operated....on the other words....how do i use this feature....perhaps I need to list some questions.....

1. How does it work?

2. Where do I add or put my auctions?

3. What are the problems of using my oscommerce shipping methods (I hvae now Canada post, UPS, and flat rate enabled and installed)?

4. I don't see a link on my site to my auction....but I am guessing it is the auction_finder.php that cumstomers go to right??

5. Do i need to create an ebay account on ebay, if i do why then I need this contribution....NO OFFENCE TO Anthony, but just being curious

hope i won't have other much questions later........(i know not only you are scared but myself too............ <_< :(

thank you so much everyone!

Did you copy the auction_helper.php file into /catalog/includes/classes ? That's in the new files (just copy) folder.

Soon is within 2 weeks. IPN 1.7 uses a copy of checkout_process inside of the paypal.php class. You could try to do some visual code matching to make the one change required. The change simply moves the auction sale from not checked out to checked out.

Yes, per *auction* sale you can override by specifying the amount in the admin or at eBay in the listing.

Ok, Im getting a little confused......... Does this mean that we must set a shipping cost for each product in our store?

Only if you want to allow the user to checkout store items during the auction checkout process. If the user adds an item to the cart that does not have fixed shipping amounts set and enabled AND you're using the fixed shipping contribution, then they get a shipping error like USPS and UPS do when you have it mis-configured. It tells the user to contact the store owner to use this shipping method.

So if my "normal" store shipping is set at $3.85, and I want to offer free shipping to lure shoppers, I would basically have to make the free shipping store wide for it to work (presuming they wanted to add items to the cart from the store)? Is that correct?

Thanks for all your hard work, it doesnt go unnoticed!

Tammy
