djmonkey1 Posted November 21, 2003 Share Posted November 21, 2003 Is there a way to adjust the shipping weight calcs so that the package tare weight is added to each shipment instead of averaged across all of them? An example of my problem: Store A has a total of four products in their catalog each weighing 3 lbs. The package tare weight is set to 2 lbs and due to the nature of the product and packaging the max. weight of each shipment is set to 8 lbs (which effectively limits each shipment to 2 products). When someone places an order for two products, the package weight is priced at (1 x 8 lbs), no problem. But, when someone places an order for four products, the package weight is priced at (2 x 7 lbs) instead of (2 x 8 lbs) and with five products (3 x 5.666666667 lbs), etc. This seems to occur across multiple shipping modules (I see it with FedEx and UPS, haven't tried any others). Can this be improved upon? Is it possible to calculate for something like (2 x 8 lbs plus 1 x 5 lbs)?
