SEF Link Transformer (SE friendly URLs)

Recommended Posts

It seems there is a problem with the advanced_search, when you search over advanced_search on the product listing thel link to the product_info are like this example:

http://www.xyz.com/manufacturer/product357/product_info.html

I see this on many pages, and it does not works. I haven't a folder "manufacturer"

Hi silencer,

I have installed your SEF contribution which you can see working here:

http://www.imtechnology.com.au

it displays catagory links as:

http://www.imtechnology.com.au/category60/...gory=Warranties

on your site i noticed that your catagories come up as

http://www.mrstest.com/drugs/

what coding did you change to accomplish this?

Also could the samething be done to the products so there names come up in the url?

Thanks for all your help,,

and its a great contribution!

P.S. This is a live site. No test orders please.

Great contribution - works well - one thing though For peoples refference - it doesn't seem to work if you have gzip enabled. prob because it uses the ob_ functions.

Thanks

Sam

Can it be purchased?

Total development cost for that shop was about $2000, so i don't think store owner (that has rights to code) will give it to someone for little price.

There is always more than one way to do it.

And always Keep It Simple, Stupid.

Hi,

I seem to have found a little proplem with this contribution. It is excellent but for the problem below.

It seems that spiders are somehow creating there own categories. such as the one below:

http://www.imtechnology.com.au/category8_1...oduct_info.html

As you can see from the link the spiders must be visiting one page in a category then switching categories and adding the imfo to the bredcrumb trail or something like that.

In anycase the spiders are chewing up my bandwidth so i need to find a solution.

I can't seem to replicate the error nor can i even imagine where to begin looking.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks,

Edwin

Sure!

http://www.imtechnology.com.au/category20/...mages/noimg.jpg

I am using this contribution:

on the fly thumbnails & watermarks 1.0

http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1839

As you can see the contribution can not find the re-written image url.

which is actually located here:

http://www.imtechnology.com.au/images/noimg.jpg

but the contribution looks for it here:

http://www.imtechnology.com.au/product146/images/noimg.jpg

thanks for all your help silencer!

Hi Silencer and thanks for this contribution wich is by the way the simple and most efficient i've ever install.

Just a question : I found a problem in the contribution that you also have on your website :

We you use an advance search, you find a listing of product wich is actually normal. Then you click on buy one button wich add a product in the cart. but when you click on continue shopping and you get back to the first listing, it's impossible to add another product to the cart, it create a link, wich only add the same product as the first choosen, whatever product you chose.

Have you ever notice, is there a way to arrange the problem ?

Thanks again.

Steve

Currently I am trying to implement SEF Link Transformer 0.8.0 with OsCommerce MS2 using STS (simple template system). But it's not working properly. On mouse over on any prodcut in index.php it showing "product_info.html....' in status bar. But When ever I click that product it redirects me to "http://mac3/product42/product_info.html?shop=36fe250a3e6a4b80732732d8f6c24c0c" and showing the following errors :

Object not found!

The requested URL was not found on this server. If you entered the URL manually please check your spelling and try again.

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.

Error 404

mac3

08/07/04 16:32:44

Apache/2.0.49 (Win32) PHP/4.3.6

1. OsCommerce is located in my root directory.

2. mod_rewrite directives in .htaccess

3. Enable GZip Compression is FALSE

4. I already delete "Search Engine Friendly links" in Configuration - My Store form database.

Still it is not working. I can't understand the reason behind it. Is anybody here to help me?

Hi Serj,

Download your contribution [sef_link_transformer_0.8.0] from http://osc.silencer.ispvds.com and try to integrate with OsCommerce MS2 to make my site search engine friendly. But I am facing some problem. I need your help.

My installation process of your contribution was as follows:

1. After unzip [sef_link_transformer_0.8.0 .zip] I got three files history.txt, readme.txt and seflt.php file.

2. I freshly installed 'oscommerce MS2' in root [ "c:\appache\htdocs" ] folder in my local mechine.

3. Now as per your instruction written in readme.txt, at first edit those two files "application_top.php" and "application_bottom.php".

4. Copy the "seflt.php" file into the root directory. .htaccess file is also there.

5. Now type "http:\\mac3" in browser [iE]. On clicking any product in home page "product_info.html?osCsid=6876fba7e2c9cfe22aa2fb1069d67618" transform to "product28/product_info.html?osCsid=b02430b53c611f912ebd3fe8277e7ae1" and browser showing error stated that:

Object not found!

The requested URL was not found on this server. The link on the referring page seems to be wrong or outdated. Please inform the author of that page about the error.

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.

Error 404

mac3

08/12/04 12:13:37

Apache/2.0.49 (Win32) PHP/4.3.6

6. Can you help me to slove this problem ?

Note : In admin section "Use search-engine safe urls for all site links" is set to false. I am not sure that " mod_rewrite" is working properly or not? How can I sure that "mod_rewrite" directives in .htaccess. Would you like to tell me how to set "mod_rewrite" directives in .htaccess?

Wating for your reply.

If anyone has got this to work with the bts then please let me know.

Thanks

hello,

thanx for this Contrib that I've been looking for a long time. You should have given the name "URL rewriting" in OsCommerce contribs database rather than Link transformer...

Anyway, I set up your contrib. Everything works except one thing :

Please check http://cellier.adosis.com/catalog_products_with_images.php and click on the product. It doesn't recreate the link correctly.

Any idea where the problem comes from ? It uses the Contrib Printable catalog (cf. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,815).

Thanx for your answer.
