Cookie_usage.php instead login.php, shopping_cart..

Recommended Posts

Hello dear friends,
I have a serious problem with the cache. When the customer wants to add a product to the basket, the cookie_usage.php page is displayed instead of the basket, the same when he wants to log in.
Then I have to go to the server panel and clear the cache of the CDN server. And so every few days. I didn't have this problem before the service provider introduced CDN servers. I have osc version 2.3.4 BS. I am asking for help, where is the problem - I can't help myself.

I think you actually answered your own question. CDNs use a cached copy of your site's resources from servers closer to the end user to deliver your pages faster.

Clearing the CDN cache is a bit different. This is something you need to do every time you make a technical change to your site, otherwise, the CDN falls back on their own set cache expiration policy and related copy of that cached resource

You need to call your hosting provider and address this issue with their tech support.

On a side note, if you are not marketing your products abroad, you don't need a CDN. And, if you opted for a CDN to solve a national (meaning within your country of origin) page loading issue, then you chose the wrong solution.

My php version 7.2,  node.js version on serwer "15 Current".  Shop is Oscommerce Bootstrap 2.3.4.1. Responsive.

Unfortunately, the service provider imposed a CDN in the middle of the contract. Yesterday I had to clean the cache from CDN 2 times. IE and Chrome quite quickly make the website work properly, but firefox pulls it from its cache and the usual ctrl + f5 does not work. The worst thing is that I do not change anything in the content of the pages - the error generates itself every few days. I thought it was the fault of the cookies or something from a session in my store.

Sorry (little mistake- the problem is in the version 2.3.4.1 CE Bootstrap) I have made many modifications to this stores. I have been with you since 2007 and I started with MS2 and I have had it through all the versions. Now I think it's time for new Phoenix

Zombie Phoenix is no longer an osCommerce product.

With Firefox, go into Options and clear all cache from History. Then do CTRL SHFT R to hard-refresh the browser.

I've never heard of a hosting company imposing a CDN, but if they cannot help resolve their own CDN issues, then you need to find another hosting company.

Can I force a client side refresh (ctrl + f5 not working)? Once a page in firefox is remembered, it won't refresh and customers think that the store is down. How to inform the client's browser that he needs to download the current page and not the one stored in the cache?

The product page is ok and refreshing a single page does not change anything - the problem is when I click next / buy or login. Then cookie_usage.php pops up and clicking refresh (ctrl+shift+r) doesn't change anything (it just downloads the current cookie_usage, php instead of proceeding). The store, after placing the product in the basket and trying to complete the purchase, instead of e.g. logging in or registering a new customer, calls cookie_usage.php.

Only the deletion of browsing memory, cookies, etc. works on the customer's side in his browser settings :(. No customer wants to agree to it. Once cookie_usage.php is called during an order, the customer cannot buy anything in my store for many days. Only removing the CDN cache works, but only on IE and Chrome Firefox will not refresh.

You need a header/cache expiration script in your main htaccess file. However, the CDN cache policy will take precedence for resources served from the CDN. You have to clear that CDN cache. That's why I said that you need to resolve the issue with the hosting company.

Actually, now I'm thinking that if you cleared the CDN cache and the browser cache and the problem persists, then that issue is somewhere else. I'm not sure what it is, but you should not be forced to use a CDN.

I need to clean the CDN cache systematically. Unfortunately firefox remembers the problem and refuses to download the page after clearing the CDN cache. Today, for example, IE and Chrome work - immediately after clearing the CDN cache (firefox takes 3 days to download from the remembered cache - and so on hundreds of customers who were shopping at the time of the problem with cookie_usage.php). And so it has been repeated systematically since my service provider introduced the CDN - and I am losing more customers :(. It is possible that introducing phoenix would change something, but introducing the current functionality of the store takes many weeks of work and probably not all modules can be installed in the latter Phoenix version.

Try this to see if it makes a difference. Comment out that header/cache code in your main htaccess file. Then clear the browser cache and run the same test.

doesn't work - (only works clearing in browser settings) but customers won't want to do it  :( . Firefox  using about 25% of clients.

If the problem is only in Firefox, try it from a different computer or your phone.

Update Firefox and restart it. I'm sorry that I couldn't be of more help.
