osCommerce-Official 203 Posted March 19, 2021 Loyalty (or bonus) points program can help merchants encourage their customers to place repeat orders. osCommerce v4 is coming with Loyalty points program feature (likely to be an add-on). Every product can have two points values - the amount it "costs" in points, and the amount it can give the customer if the customer buys it. Value of points the customer can gain by buying this or that product can be displayed on product info pages and product listings too. During the Checkout, existing customers can see their balance in points and choose to redeem certain amount of points, using loyalty points as a payment method. Points can be checked, and edited in the back end for each customer. Further developments may include some more advanced promotional mechanisms that will involve loyalty points. 1 SaphyraK reacted to this
♥Smoky Barnable 72 Posted March 19, 2021 Very nice. How about gift certificates? The water in a vessel is sparkling; the water in the sea is dark. The small truth has words which are clear; the great truth has great silence. - Rabindranath Tagore
poj_ud 2 Posted March 19, 2021 (edited) Would you please make a simple Loyalty Discount app like this one. I really need it.Customer Loyalty Discount Scheme Module. The purpose of this order total module is to provide a basic Customer Loyalty Program/Discount Scheme, that rewards customers with discounts against each order based upon the amount they have spent in prior periods. This module, at the time of a customer order being placed, totals up the value of all previous orders this customer has placed over a pre-defined (in admin) rolling period of time and then applies a discount rate to this order according to a table of discount rates also pre-defined (in admin) that correspond to the amount spent over the rolling period. For example, in admin you have set the pre-defined rolling period to a month, and set up a table of discounts that gives 5.0% discount if they have spent over £1000 in the previous month (i.e previous 31 days, not calendar month), or 7.5% if they have spent over £1500 in the previous month. Thanks, will consider that as well. Currently it is possible to use various customer / price groups, but will discuss the idea of automated accumulated discounts with the dev team. Or perhaps this will be an opportunity for the osCommerce development partners to create such a discount module! 1 poj_ud reacted to this
