Question about features

Recommended Posts

Hello,

what are you plans regarding the following features:

1. Purchase without an account (PWA)

2. Are you going to support truly multilingual shops?

Current editions of Osc are not very "multilingual", even if multiple languages are supported.

Would it be possible to automatically send confirmations, invoices etc. to customers based on the language they've ordered with?

3. PDF invoices

4. GDPR

It currently built into the system. We are not 100% sure if it will be made an add-on or rather will simply stay a part of the checkout. This seems to be a very popular option that many shop owners would like to have.

Of course!

How it works now is as follows:

- every DB entity is translatable in as many languages as are registered in the system. Product, for example, has product name, description, attributes, even images linked to a particular language

- content, like banners, texts, etc is linked to particular language, and so are all contextual widgets in the templates (themes)

- every document is translatable too, including invoices and emails

- every bit and piece of content, like button captions, system messages, etc is translatable too

Just to confirm, all of the above is done in the back end, no need for file editing or coding.

3. PDF invoices

Is currently a part of the system.

4. GDPR

There will be a post on GDPR. In general, yes, it is present in the system.

Orders do not contain it, but customers do

Wouldn't that be a problem with PWA customers?

According to the dev team, this is how it works:

- PWA customer records get removed after a certain period of time (a cron job needs to be set up)

- language and sales channel data is also present in the order, so that the system would "know" which language and email template content and design to use when communicating with the customer, and so that language data can be used in the future

Hopefully the above helps!

Great, that's what I was after.

Questions arise:

Will there be an order editor to e.g. add new products to and/or remove products from the order, change delivery address ...? A proper order editor must also be capable to recalculate taxes, discounts etc.

Current editions of Osc also store language dependent strings into orders_totals table. I hope that is not the case in V4.
