Phoenix Installation via Softaculous

Recommended Posts

Is now possible and takes seconds...

Log into the Softaculous App on your hosts cPanel and you will find CE Phoenix in the E-Commerce section.

We are very pleased to have gotten CE Phoenix onto Softaculous as it opens up a whole new world of users who want/need an easy install.

Thank you to @ecartz for his months of hard work in getting Phoenix modernised and to @Heatherbell and @peterpil19 for their hard work in getting Phoenix onto Softaculous.

  • Give it a go if you have a Cpanel host who runs Softaculous - but please make you do not overwrite your live shop installation (I have not tested and am not sure if it gives you a warning prior to potential overwrite).
  • Please give Phoenix a rating/review as word-of-mouth from happy users is the most powerful thing - thank you.

Please note that I have since deleted the install that you see in the video as it was performed only for the video.

I have seen CE Phoenix available via Softaculous before with some other hosting providers. Now, when I registered my own/new shared hosted server & domain with hostpapa.eu, when I go to softaculous and look under e-commerce or using search (CE phoenix), I can not find it. It is not there. I'm not that familiar with Softaculous, so I wonder, if there are some kind of  version differences or should all the applications be available with all providers of Softaculous?

Of course, I will ask about this from hostpapa as well, just thought someone here might have the answer.

The Youtube video linked above shows you where to look in the Menu.

In cPanel, open "Softaculous Apps Installer".  In the right hand menu, scroll down to "e-commerce" and click it, this opens a sub menu and "CE Phoenix" is the 4th in the list.  Click "CE Phoenix".

Of course, as you rightly say, it is possible that hostpapa is using some other flavour of Softaculous (perhaps it is an older version or maybe a custom version?) - so they may give you a more specific answer...

Thanks, for your reply. Attached a screenshot from Hostpapa's Softaculous. I'll ask Hostpapa.

Maybe this helps someone with similiar problems..
