Ahh OK, did not realize this URL was for the purpose of linking to the manufacturer's web site, makes sense now.

Or otherwise. I use it to link to my own blog articles.

I am not a professional webmaster or PHP coder by background or training but I will try to help as best I can.

I remember what it was like when I first started with osC. It can be overwhelming.

However, I strongly recommend considering hiring a professional for extensive site modifications, site cleaning, etc.

There are several good pros here on osCommerce. Look around, you'll figure out who they are.

This particular function, now that it is understood is of little value to my site.

That said, I'd be happy to help out the larger community by sponsering a coder, how is this done?

Curious Burt, I've read dozens of your helpful post and have never seen you ask this question ever, why me?🙂

It sounded like you needed it, and the two offered addons above...are both far from ideal for core code.

As you don't need it (and most people to be fair...don't ... hence why it was never made in the first place) there's no point in getting that made.
Otherwise someone like @raiwa or @BrockleyJohn may have made something for you/core.

As allways @burt thankyou  for your kind words of support and encouragement what would we do without them! 😂

You're welcome.  I wish your addons were quality, but they're unfotunately not as you know.

This is a feature that attracted me to OSCommerce earlier.  Returning to it now, I need and will count on it.    I agree... how can I ensure it gets into core?   This feature eliminates the need to maintain duplicate entries and sync them.  In high volume, it is invaluable.  In heavy traffic, it might slow down... but I need to see it in order to evaluate and expect it to function well.   Help please.  Thank you...

@Ken_Shea,

Here is the prodcut link module:

@burt, if you wish to add it to core, the old sample product links would need to have "http:// " or "https://" added in the install sql.
