Category Descriptions contribution for osCommerce 2.2 CVS

Recommended Posts

Hmm, tried it and got parse errors on both admin/categories/php and /index.php.

Reverted back to old files and will try again if/when asked to.

Tried again and the errors are to do with the /admin/includes/functions/categories_descriptions.php script.

I ask again for help ... the guide says

4. NEW FILE: admin/includes/functions/categories_description.php

The categories_description.php file contains two service routines:

tep_get_category_heading_title

tep_get_category_description

It should be installed in the admin/includes/functions directory.

but should this file have just this in it;

<?php
tep_get_category_heading_title
tep_get_category_description
?>

or what??

Can someone please let me know what I should be doing with this file, as the errors I'm getting are to do with thie info and parse'ing. <_<

Gee, thanks for the help!! In the end I looked at the old versions of the CVS contribution and found the file in one of those. Pity it took so long.

I've been searching the forums for quite some time, and tinkering to see if I could figure out a problem I'm having with this contrib, but I just need some help.

I have the contribution installed, including on the catalog side, which seems to be working fine so far.

However, when I try to access my admin/catagories.php I get a parse error:

Parse error: parse error in /xxxx/xxxx/xxxx/xxxx/categories.php on line 885

This is occuring in the new_categories_insert that I inserted into the categories.php as directed in the readme for this contribution.

This is the specific line it tells me has the parse error (885):

  } elseif ($HTTP_GET_VARS['action'] == 'new_category_preview') {

This is on an MS2 installation.

If you need more info, I can provide it.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Ok, I had the end of a query wrong.

I have also repackaged this contrib, including the php scripting mod and my own mod in order to be able to use WYSIWYG for the category description!

It's a complete package with slightly reformatted, more user-friendly instructions.

I've presented both the WYSIWYG mod and the php scripting mod as optional, and included instructions for installation with or without one of these mods.

This is a NON-BTS version.

Get the contrib here
