Waza04
Hiya All!! I have been using a mod now on my store for some time... and wondered if anybody else would want the mod as a contribution to use... What is basically does is draw a barcode on the customer/admin invoices packing slips from the order number - this can be used with all scanners to read the order number without having to search for it. For example you can click in the order id box in admin/orders scan the barcode from a preprinted invoice and MAGIC - up comes the order without any fuss! It as configurable options in admin such as height, width, and output type aswell as the option to show human readable text underneath... The barcode can be placed anywhere you wish, and can geneate for any given string. Here is a screen shot: Let me know what you think - if people are interested - I will upload to the contributions section... Warren

This could be very useful to print the barcoded product numbers in the packing slip. Waza04
How do you mean 'Product Number' - Do you mean the model number? Warren
CC
For those who have run a Barcode system internally before, I would imagine this would be invaluable. I would suggest you upload this to contributions anyhow, cos alot of people wont be able to follow this thread as it will disappear into the dark depths of threads past eventually. But maybe in time loads of people will want this... Just MHO. CC.

Waza04
Also - One other thing that I need to find out before uploading is what coding standard everybody uses... Currently im using the 'Code 3 of 9' as every scanner can read that... Warren

Guest
Since, I am rewriting the OSC Admin Tool to work more like a standard desktop application and provide a standardized (Windows-Based) environment for sales and order management that includes online, manually entered and retail store sales, this would be a very interesting contribution. Just have a couple of questions though. Does this use an industry standard barcode specification so that it can be utilized with barcode readers commonly found in retail sales today. And how hard do you think it would be to integrate the barcode functionality with product management so that labels could be printed for inventory purposes? It uses the standard of 'Code 3 of 9' which almost every reader can read... It is very eas to place an position where ever you want - as the barcode is called using the html <img> function so it acts just like any old image... loxly
Don't go there Warren. I have sons with Muscular Dystrophy and one died recently. If you want to get into debate with me you will be in over your head. You, and I assume anyone else with a brain that read my comment, should understand that I was referring to osc features. Wayne, If this is using the same method as I was going to start work on, then you have the following options: Type Interleaved 2 of 5Code 39 Code 128-A Code 128-B Code 128-C Output Portable Network Graphics (PNG)Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) Styles Draw borderDraw value text Stretch text Negative (White on black) Size Xres (Width between bars) Text Size HTH, Tony P.S. Warren, are we talking about the same software? http://www.mribti.com/barcode/ Quote "The price of success is perseverance. The price of failure comes much cheaper." Waza04
No - I Was goin to use that - But it required a lot of customisation to actually get POST and GET tags to work etc.. So I went ahead and wrote my own - At the min though - iI have only used Code 3 of 9. Hoever, I made it easy to add adittional code types.
