PayPal customer email showing admin url

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I am running bs edge with Paypal Express as the only payment method.

On testing using a credit card payment, I received the "customer email", under Merchant Information in this email was my entire admin url!

Any clues to why this may be happening?

Shaun

OK so the whole Paypal email receipt received on Google Chrome looks like this, (sort of).

This is a payment by card through Paypal, not a Paypal payment.

As you can see the whole path to my admin is here, this is not right!

Other customer live tests on MS Edge and Firefox seem OK, no admin path shown.

I need help, does anyone have any idea?

I also had a strange problem with a later test payment with a card via Paypal. The page stopped working, I clicked the link "Cancel, Return to merchant", and for some reason a shipping method, that I had deleted over 2 months ago, showed on the payment page. The Free postage I configured was nowhere to be seen, I looked in admin/shipping and the "request a quote" shipping module was fully installed and turned on!!! This was uninstalled and removed from the shipping list. I then uninstalled RAQ and the Free delivery showed again.

WTF!

How can an error like this be generated from a Paypal transaction?

I have had a good look around the site, this new test customer, created a couple of minutes before was still in the "Customers" list. Changes to some files a few days ago were still in effect, in fact no other changes have been seen.

I have since made another test payment, which went through fine, but the Paypal email receipt still shows my admin path.

OK, just to inform anyone that has a similar problem.

I contacted PayPal and found out that their system was picking this url up from the information I used on setup! even though this was not the case.

However this was sorted out by the PP rep and now it just shows my store url.

HTH.

Regards Shaun
