burt
It's come to my attention that we might have a problem or not, at Customer Logs In > My Account > Addresses Primary Address (and other addresses) do not show the State. See attached image; The array at the top shows the Data. The address below does not show the State. Can anyone confirm on their Bootstrap? I am about to install a standard 2.3.4 to see if the same occurs - which will be my first 2.3.4 installation in over 3 years!
BrockleyJohn
seems ok on 2.3.4.1 (state is Testside) Contact me for work on updating existing stores - whether to Phoenix or the new osC when it's released. Looking for a payment or shipping module? Maybe I've already done it. Working on generalising bespoke solutions for Quickbooks integration, Easify integration and pay4later (DEKO) integration at 2.3.x
burt
TY @BrockleyJohn I think I got to the bottom of it' If the inputtted address is in a country that has Zones (eg USA, Germany, Austria etc)...the State does not show: If the address is in a Country where the customer had to input the state (rather than choose from the pre-defined dropdown), the State Name then does show; This seems like an oversight. This oversight exists in standard osc (and I had forgotten just how shit standard osc looks!) and in community osc. Should we do something about it ? Or just leave as is, it hasn't caused an issue for 18 years...

burt
Yep, it does indeed show the State Abbreviation on USA addresses, nice spot. Could you try an Austrian address please @BrockleyJohn
burt
D'oh Austria = address_format_id 5 US = address_format_id 2 Address format id 5 does not show state. Address format id 2 does show state. All seems OK.
♥Tsimi
In some countries in Europe you don't need the State. For Example; in Switzerland we have John Doe Teststreet 123 8004 Zurich I created my own address format for Japanese address. Address format 6 $firstname $lastname$cr$postcode$cr$state$city$streets You can add that if you'd like. Wonder what the address_summary field is used for?
