Gary at

had some easy to install headertag modules at a very reasonable price for this very thing. I use them and they work fine, I just need to add one for the paypal checkout. You will also be supporting Bootstrap version of oscommerce by buying from his site.

REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP

Thanks @14steve14

Hi @burt, I've found https://www.clubosc.com/recording-ip-address-in-oscommerce.html but there is code missing from step 2? I'm guessing it for the table heading and table content for the admin orders page?

Would this work for v2.3.4 Bootstrap as I can't seem to get it to work?

many thanks @burt

Hi

I'm wanting to record the IP addresses of all customers.

I've found this add-on which fits the bill perfectly but is over 14 years old...

https://apps.oscommerce.com/bAPb2&ip-address-collecter

...does anyone know if it can work for osC v2.3.4 bootstrap?

Many thanks

Glen

Have a look at this thread... I never had a chance to make this into an addon... but all the info is there

@GlenPig a blog post from 8 years ago is not suitable for the code we have now.

I recall making a header_tag module which I think I released a couple of years ago maybe
in a summer blowout sale.  So it rather depends on if you want to pay for it (in which case I'll find it a re-release it) or not.

There is no need to change any code at all to get IP address per order.  HT module on checkout_success.
Admin side:  easiest to change core code, but could potentially be done with a Hook.

@burt  that sentence cracked me up.  Sounds like you're getting older and more forgetful, or maybe just sooooo many modules over time.  I find myself wondering sometimes "why did I make that change and when did I do it?" .  So far, when it comes to aging, I'm not a fan.

I'm not really a dog.
