yahalimu
I just moved to a new server. All seems OK except sometimes and only sometimes I cannot log into admin. I get through the htaccess stage OK. (I have enabled htaccess password protection) and then I get to the OsCommerce login. When I put in the admin user and password it just times out and comes up with the 'Internal server error' message. No error messages on server error log except notification of a 45 second timeout and 'server mod_fcgid: ap_pass_brigade failed in handle_request_ipc function'. No error message on the mysql error log. Can I remove the login page and just rely on htaccess? This is a working website and if one morning I cannot log into admin (normally seems ok in the morning) we are in big big trouble. Any suggestions? I just HOPE I can login tomorrow. yahalimu
For info, Os Commerce version 2.3.3, PHP version 5.5.9-1ubuntu4.17 Was almost definitely an older PHP version on the old server. I can bypass the login on admin by commenting out the login ( and relying on htaccess) but then I lose the left column boxes.
yahalimu
SOLVED. I like to post any solutions for all people searching in the future. It turns out when the PHP version was upgraded it broke the 'whose online' which then overloaded the MYSQL server. It did actually log me on OK but then crashed when serving the admin page. The fix for this is in the upgrade from 2.3.3 to 2.3.3.1. So far it is working well but I will also upgrade to 2.3.3.2 as it fixes the 'depreciated function' report in the server logs.
