osCommerce Community Edition - Get Involved

Recommended Posts

I need more help from the Community.  How to Help...

This post assumes that you are using the osCommerceCE on a live or test site, so you know a little bit about using it as a shopowner or as a developer or some hybrid of the two.

Shopowners, Give your Time

Get a Github account.  This does not mean you'll be doing anything technical, it simply means you are able to pass comment on ideas and code etc.  https://github.com/join

Now that you have a Github account;

  1. you can comment on ideas here
  2. you can raise bug reports here
  3. you can test and make comment on new code about to be added here

Developers, Give your Code

As a developer, you could give your code.  Rather than make addons, do it at Github.  This is the only way to get your code into the core.  Rightly or wrongly, Team Members do not look at addons.

Get a Github account;

  1. you can take control of any item here by commenting on it.  I'll assign it to you.
  2. you can help solve a bug here by commenting on it.  I'll assign it to you.
  3. you can test new code about to be added here, and make comment
  4. you can create new shop-side code on a branch of your Fork and push it to Master

If you cannot give Code or Time...allow me to give Code & Time...

Since May 19th, I've added an easy way for Developers & Shopowners to donate cash to the Project which allows me to give my time.  https://github.com/gburton/Responsive-osCommerce#help-to-move-the-project-forward
