Best way to implement USPS shipping fees by weight

fiddlehead

Recommended Posts

I sell about 130 different products, and almost all of them are different weights of course.
I have been doing my shipping costs based on total price of order.
Would like to change that to weight of order.
I realize I'll have to add weights to each product and size.
But can't find a module that is right for me.
I want to use USPS and either paypal shipping or stamps.com (so that I can start using first class )

(unless someone has a better solution)

Help Please!

Weight is already there. Size is not mandatory. In fact, the module that does the package size/no. of packages aren't that great, and I think it may not worth the trouble anyway.

From your admin, setup the configuration->shipping/packaging, then install the USPSXML module you should be good to go.

Paypal or stamps.com is up to you, but I use Endicia.com. It's not that bad to implement. Tim

Thanks so much for that Tim,
I'm looking into it now with my IT guy.
Does anyone here use stamps.com or paypal shipping?
I like the fact that paypal shipping is free, but don't know if it's the best for me.

OK, working on this and time to put all the weights in (big job, as I have so many products)
So, I'm using oscommerce v2.3.4     and under the description, near the bottom, it has a box for weights.
They are asking in a format   0.00
Is that lbs and ozs?      example: 1 lb 2 oz would be     1.02    ???
Or lbs and decimal?     example: 1 lb 2 oz would be 1.12     ???
Or kgs?            example l lb 2 oz would be 0 .51    ???

Or something else?

Help again please.
Thanks
