Guest
Hi all, Wondering if I can get some advice on the best way to go about updating an Osc 2.3.3 site. My host is currently updating PHP to 5.5+ and i know that I need to do the updates stated in the release notes of previous installations 1 by 1 on https://www.oscommerce.com/Products. I'd like to know the best way everyone would go about doing these updates on a live site. I would like to display a maintenance page on the website whilst I carry out the file changes needed to bring it up to PHP 5.5+ compatibility but I don't know the best way to go about doing this. Would love anyones advice. Cheers
ozEworks
I usually put up an index.html page If you really want to stop them from getting past index.php then you can add a redirect in application_top.php. I don't do it often so I can't tell you off the top of my head how to. Again the index.html works well enough. But your hosting might not serve it by default. If it doesn't there is a directive you can add to your .htacess file
