tcpinhead
I tested it on a mac running osX and it all looks and works good. I am on a DSL line and it seems to load slow. I noticed in safari the pixel_trans.gif is not found. It seems to be looking for it in the root dir. <!-- left_navigation_eof //--> </table></td> <td width="14" valign="top"><img src="pixel_trans.gif" border="0" alt="" width="14" height="1"></td> <!-- body_text //--> IE 5.2 Netscape 7 Safari v.60 I did notice the link from the "your ad here" banner went to Wizards and Wars. rthrash
Outstanding look and feel... great job! Clean. Appropriate feature set. All left column layout works great. Easy to check out if I don't have an account already. Well done. For a really nit-picky comment, the shadow under the bottom/curved part of the info boxes is darker than the shadow on the sides. This makes it "jump" when the shadow reaches the curved part. Regardless, awesome work. Err... mind if I borrow a few ideas? ;) Ryan Thrash
rthrash
One more quick one... when you click on "Your Ad Here", you go to the Wizards and Wars forums, and don't get any info on becoming a sponsor... Ryan Thrash

This makes it "jump" when the shadow reaches the curved part. you have good eyes... it is not really curved though... you see it looks "curved" because the shadow is darker... makes it look like the table is kind of curving up off the page or maybe peeling off the page... thats how it's intended to look... no mistake at all... create a nice illusion of some depth on the page rather than the normal "flat" page. thanks for the info on the banner... chrisyeung168
Thanks so much, you are great! I have built my own mod (inspired by MoPics) to show the screenshots... at the request of some I have controibuted it... many u just missed that thread: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1114 http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=39300 http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=39306 P.S... if a few mac users could just be sure the site loads and look OK on their macs, I'd appriciate it. Makes sense. You might consider starting a little more gradually on the darker color, then... increasing in darkness over 3-5 pixels from the shadow-color of the vertical part to the current darkness on the curled up part. It would then probably look a little less "suddenly elevated". Or you could just leave it alone and be completely satisfied with a beautiful site! :) Ryan Thrash

maxfaction
Nice Layout, its really smooth :) Mac fans should be proud. I'm trying to make one for myself, something beyond the basic layout of oscommerce. I'm good with web design, graphic art, etc... As you know oscommerce isn't as easy to modify as most sites are, so I was wondering if you had any advice or direction that may help me out? Thank you. Guest
Just one question... Your game information i.e. Publisher, rating, box size, platform, etc Is that being pulled from the db or is it handcoded? I am tring to create a layout for my site but not all products have everything in common so I was wondering whether to include this in the db or just create a basic template and hand-code it. Thanks, Stephen
CC
Love the site, well impressive layout. I recognise the template it has been built on. Same colour scheme and overall design look. You must have spent a fair bit of time working it from a template to a working store. I love it, one of the best! CC.
CC
P.S. - It is as slow as buggery on this side of the pond. You may want to check it out as to why. Cos when I say slow, I mean it just took over 3 minutes to load the Adventure games category! CC.

I have modified my admin/categories.php to include the new fields, so I just put them in when I create a new product. CC. hmm... yeah it has been slow for me too a few times... it seems ok now. though Aleron and Level3 are having problems causing huge bottlenecks. If it's still slow for you, would you mind running a traceroute from yourself to madmacgames.com. This way i can see if you have to hop through Aleron or Level3. if that is the case, there is nothing I can do as those companies need to fix their networks. If not though, I need to start looking in other places what might be causing it. Gisele
It looks amazing! Hello all, Finally I have my new site finished enough to show to the OSC community. I've been working hard, and I know it's not *quite* finished yet. We are going live next weekend, so between now and then I will be adding the rest of our products in and cleaning up any odds and ends that I've missed. Really did alot of work on this one... stripping out alot of OSC's "extra" features, adding in some of my own, and so forth to make the site operate very smoothly. Please feel free to look around and try things out. I have a test account set up for anyone who would like to use it: login: [email protected] pass: tester http://www.madmacgames.com Thank you all for your time. dreamscape
thanks CC, I got it. you have much better ms times than I do, but still the site loads relatively fast for me and I get 800+, 1200+ ms delays on some of my hops... seems to be UK people only who have ungodly slow load times... I am looking into it (though we currently do not ship to the UK, as we grow, that may change). Guest
Wow, that site is simply amazing. It makes me sad looking at the site I've spent the past few weeks on hehe... It really is one of the best sites ive seen in a long time. The only flaw I can really see is that its a bit heavy and slow. But considering your target audience (well me, if i had a mac), it's pretty enough that I don't mind waiting the few extra seconds. Most gamers have broadband anyway don't they? Excellent job, and I would love to see a full list of all the mods you used on/made for this store.

dreamscape
Oh...how long did this take you btw? um, it took a little over a month... fitting the template into the site and adding in and modifying alot of the code so the site functioned how I wanted it to (extra info on product info page, organize new products by games release date, a bunch of "behind the scenes" contributions, etc) The only thing necessary for evil to flourish is for good men to do nothing - Edmund Burke
