Can you explain what you mean by a "better url fix"? Both of the popular rewriters, Ultimate SEO and SEO 5, work with Header Tags SEO.

Sorry Jack I meant the standard URL      domain.com>category>itemname rather than the likes of domain.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?products_id=3007 I am using OSC 2.3.4

I didn't really want to add a further SEO contribution (unless its a benefit), this process more about getting the friendly URL's

@@toyzonline If you want user-friendly url's, the code has to be changed and the easiest way to do that is install one of the rewriters I mentioned. There are others besides those two but, as far as I know, they are not being managed at all. SEO 5 is no longer actively managed but I think others are trying to support it.

With Ultimate SEO the product url would appear something like

http://yoursite.com/product-name-p-800.html

or if you use the include category name option, it would be

http://yoursite.com/category-name-product-name-p-800.html

SEO 5 has more options for the first one. Something like

http://yoursite.com/product-name-p-800.html

http://yoursite.com/product_info/product-name

I could be wrong about that last one. I don't use it so I'm guessing from memory. It is, in my opinion, a poor format since the url will be ranked for product_info because that becomes a keyword.

If you use Ultimate SEO and Header Tags SEO together, there is an option in Header Tags SEO to override the name in the url, which can be useful for some sites.
