Getting fatal error in addon "Activation code for registration"

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I installed "Activation code for registration" and am getting the error as mentioned below.

Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required 'includes/column_left.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /public_html/*****/account_activate.php on line 155

Code of the addon is also attached with this post

You dont mention what version of oscommerce you are using, but the latest versions do not have a includes/column_left.php file. Did you manually install the addon, or did you just upload and overwrite the files. You should have manually added the addon, using the install file, not overwrite the included files.

Just replace you current files with the backup copies you made before altering them, then manually install the code changes. You will also need to  remove a whole bunch of code from the addon files that use new pages as the latest versions have been heavily altered. There was a post on here somewhere that explained what you needed to alter and remove from old files to make them work on the new stores.

REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP

Before installing the official version of oscommerce first look at a responsive version here

If you are actually working with osC 3.0, you should have enough knowledge about the system that you don't try doing something dumb like install a 2.2 add-on. I trust that you are aware that 2.3.4 is the latest production-ready osC -- 3.0 is developmental/experimental, and shouldn't be used for a live store.

If you are running the "official" osC 2.3.4 or 2.3.4.1 download, your installation is obsolete! Get (stable) Frozenpatches or (unstable) Edge. See also the naming convention and the latest community-supported responsive "Edge" release
