weinhexe
Hi all, in OSC 2.3.3.4 I am trying to modify the search function. Generally I am using the advanced search modus. Furthermore I added some additional description fields which I also added to be searched. The search results are now provided in alphabetical order, no matter in which of the searched fields they are found. If I deactivate in advanced_search_result.php the line $order_str = " order by pd.products_name"; the results are provided in an order I cannot understand. I would like to provide the results in an order depending on the fields where they are found: 1 – results found in product names 2 – results found in product description 3 – others In another post I found a hint that the search in admin/categories.php works this way, providing first the categories and afterwards the products. Unfortunately my knowledge of php is not sufficient to use that. Maybe someone has a good idea or even a modified search script and is willing to share it? Thank you and kind regards weinhexe
Guest
Couple search suggestions for you (advanced search can get REALLY db intensive so be careful modding that especial as your product catalog grows), some of them are unfinished but a good start. http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/7192 http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/topic/362324-better-product-search/ http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/topic/394763-smartsuggest-self-learning-ajax-search-suggestion/
