Download Controller problem

I have just installed DC 5.3 and all seems to be running fine but I just can't see where the download should kick in.

I've gone through the whole process where I finally get the message: "NOTE: Downloads are not available until payment has been confirmed." But nothing happens??

I should mention that prior to installing DC, I wasn't able to download either!

I have read all the posts I could find and I have checked:

1-DOCUMENT_ROOT is full path

2-CHmod is ok

3-Filename is ok

4-Download is true/true....

I hope someone can shed some light on this here shadow.

Oh, one more thing. The download doesn't kick in. You have to click on the link at the bottom of the page (checkout_success.php, I think) to start the download. Click on the product name.

This is the page (checkout_success.php) that shows the message (NOTE: Downloads are not available until payment has been confirmed.)

It's the page that says "Your order has been processed".

No link at all on this page.

I'll check the order status.

The order status is set to default:(in Download/Settings)

Update status = 4

Order status = 2

Make sure the file actually exists in the /download directory

 

... I am assuming it does as you say the spelling is right and the file is casesentive correct, and there is only one period and no spaces in the filename and you are using zip files or pdf files ... I forget which other ones work without an issue.

 

Do you use the File redirect? If so make sure /pub is 777

 

If you can perhaps toss up your /includes/configure.php for a peek without the password/login showing maybe we can see something in there.

When I check the test orders I put through, they show as pending.

Is that the way it's supposed to be?

Here's my table "order_status":

1-Pending (default)

2-Processing

3-Delivered

4-Updated

Pending is 1

 

Downloads are enabled at 2

 

Either set one of your payment modules to Processing (2) and see what happends and make a new order.

 

Or, update an order to Processing and go to Account History and see if the download is available.

That's it, now I understand, I had to set the status in the payment module as well.

All seems good now!

That's was the cool part of the Downloads Controller v5.3 ... 8)

 

It's all managed in the Admin. Unfortunately, it's very different from old versions and these are new settings that were not there a few weeks ago.

 

So, it takes getting use to.

 

Glad to see it is working happily now.

 

I like seeing that my contributions work right the first time ... and I was starting to think ... eeeks! Did I miss something in writting it? Could it be a ... *gulp* bug ... :shock:

 

Let me know if you run into any other problems with it.
