Which Authorize.net product contributions should I use

Recommended Posts

I have a customer thinking of switching from bluepay to authorize.net. I would like to hear from you which contribution I should try and why. They are currently on 2.2 of OScommerce.

There are only two options with authorize.net:

AIM - Advanced Integration Method

"A connection method that allows merchants to customize their own payment form (the Web page that collects the customer’s payment information) and receipt page (the Web page that reports a summary of the transaction back to the customer), as well as submit transactions over an end-to-end Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connection."

SIM - Server Integration Method

"A connection method that allows merchants to post transactions directly to the payment gateway’s secure server and requires transaction-unique encryption for transaction authentication. SIM provides merchants with a hosted payment form (the Web page that collects the customer’s payment information) and a hosted receipt page (the Web page that reports a summary of the transaction back to the customer)."

Either will work, but AIM allows you to customize the checkout process.
