Email Problem

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

This is my 3rd question in this forum, I hope anyone who can help me.

I m now configurating the email option.

I m using AppServ 2.5.9 with osc 2.3.1 install in my home PC, the Windows XP.

I m using google app email address (example: [email protected])

I search for very long time to make the email work on send to customer, contact us and creating account confirmation mail.

My Email option setting is,

E-Mail Transport Method - smtp

E-Mail Linefeeds - LF

Use MIME HTML When Sending Emails - true

Verify E-Mail Addresses Through DNS - false

Send E-Mails - true

Using above setting the send email to customer, contact us and create account confirmation email work, but all received email will appear some crazy code on it, and repeat 3 times.

for example;

--=_

9c97128697549d18aee9596d93f4cd18

Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8"

Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

This email is to testing the Send Email To Customers Function.

--=_9c97128697549d18aee9596d93f4cd18

Content-Type: text/html; charset="utf-8"

Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable

This email is to testing the Send Email To Customers Function.

--=_9c97128697549d18aee9596d93f4cd18--

So, I search and one reply said to turn off the "Use MIME HTML When Sending Emails"

so I do this

E-Mail Transport Method - smtp

E-Mail Linefeeds - LF

Use MIME HTML When Sending Emails - false

Verify E-Mail Addresses Through DNS - false

Send E-Mails - true

After this setting, They all back to normal, with no crazy code and not repeat lines.

But the Create account confirmation email does not work.

JUST THAT!!!!

Does anyone have the same problem?? Y is that?! Any solution?!

Please Please help.

Hi Everyone,

I reply this because it works, I did not do anythings. The Create account confirmation email finally received.

No config has been change.

Current Admin E-mail option as follows

E-Mail Transport Method - smtp

E-Mail Linefeeds - LF

Use MIME HTML When Sending Emails - false

Verify E-Mail Addresses Through DNS - false

Send E-Mails - true

But my next question is about Contact us.

My Contact us page is osc default page.

Once i test it by become a customer and try to contact store owner using contact us page.

We have to enter 3 things, the name, the customer email address and the contents.

One the store owner received the email from customer.

the "From" address is coming from the store owner email.

and the "To" address is become the "Input name <to_addr>".

I think it is not correct, right?!

the "From" address in the received email should be the email the customer just enter.

and the "To" address should be the owner email address.

I wonder if the php code somewhere mixed up.

I know some of the programming, but I m not a php programmer, so I can't find the problem out.

Can anyone guide me which parts cause this mixed up?!

Thank

You could try this as a "band-aid".

Just so you know, posting the same problem more than once is against forum rules.

I've counted 5 posts you made about this problem in various places already...

Hi Marc53,

Please check your setting for your email, if you sending email using smtp, the port for gmail is not default set in osc and you have to manually modify the class.stmp.php.

change your $smtp_port = 465
