shingmunriver
For extra protection for the admin tool, there are two ways as recommended to deal with: 1) set a htaccess password on the catalog/admin directory; 2) move the catalog/admin/backups directory outside the public html directory. Obviously, either option requires adding codes to the htaccess OR catalog/includes/configure.php file. Can anyone tell how should these codes be written? Thanks. Guest
You should be able to password protect the admin directory from your hosting account's file manager. (no code edits needed) and there is no reason to move your /backups directory outside the public_html directory as long as your file permissions are set correctly. Also, rename your admin directory to something else and THEN password protect it. Chris
