[Addon} Modular Front Page

Recommended Posts

Thanks, Jim!

The language was defined as Portuguese, pointing to a folder "portugues" (without the e at the end)

By changing the language to Portugues, I no longer get the error message

Another prob, with the New Products module

I installed this module after installing the language, but I see no way of inserting text in Portuguese..... whatever text I insert in the field "New Products for...", in english, remains in English when I change the language - am I missing something?

Regards,

Antonio

That's a bug. The current version of this module doesn't have the language code. I need to fix that.

You have uploaded a file to the Admin that belongs in the catalog. Remove that file or replace it with the correct file.

Clearing the front page is correct. You need to install modules to see anything there.

In the Admin, clear your cache and force a refresh. If you still don't see Front Page under Modules, you either missed a file or two or you put them in the wrong places. Check your Admin side install again.

Use <ctrl> F5 to force a refresh. Or open a page in a different section of the Admin and then come back to Modules.

Then you have made a mistake in uploading one or more of the files. Check that each one is in the correct location. Replace the file if there is any doubt.

Hiya

when moving the files over first time i did it one at a time

second time I just selected the catalog folder and copied the whole folder

with ftp.

I would have thought doing it the second way if there is a file missing then it can only be in the addon ?

please do bear in mind I am a dim whit though :-)

I have no idea what you've done. Obviously there is something wrong, but I've run out of guesses.

This is the simplest way to make many changes to the front page. Any other method will require making changes to the code in your index.php, which is much more difficult.

Yes, if your osCommerce install is in /catalog/catalog/ and you tried to install this Addon into /catalog/ it will certainly not work.

The question is why is your installation in /catalog/catalog/ in the first place? You should install in the root unless there is a good reason not to.

That's a bug. The current version of this module doesn't have the language code. I need to fix that.

Would you have an idea when the New Products module will be compatible with different languages?

Thanks

Whenever I get it done. Feel free to fix the bug yourself if you don't want to wait for me.
