rpdesign
Please for everyone's sake this happened to my site this past week and it might be useful to you. I was checking the who is online tool in admin and noticed a ip address of 216.129.119.43 kept coming up, thinking it was a customer i wanted to know more so i went to this siteand found out who owned this ip address. Turns out it was a site called layer42.net who promotes bandwidth solutions. Yeh right! More like bandwidth stealing >_< If you installed the ip trap add on i highly suggest adding this ip address to the Ip_trapped.txt file in your banned folder. ***note*** this is only if you installed ip trap as suggested in this thread I would suggest installing all contribs except the last one anti xss as this seems to be giving people problems. Always backup your files! Guest
Robert, I recently contacted the ISP that you mentioned and spoke to the CEO who stated their bot follows all robot.txt policies and is not a threat to any website. The ISP is planning a launch of a new SE, hence the reason for the crawler. Chris
