Authorize Just Stopped Working

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have a site using MS2.2 and have had Authorize running on it for ever, version Nov 19, 2008. All of a sudden in both test and live mode I am getting this message? Also it gives no error. Looked at the code, and no association of error and code message? Did something change at Authorize?

Thanks JR

(TESTMODE) This transaction cannot be accepted. - Your credit card could not be authorized for this reason. Please correct any information and try again or contact us for further assistance.

A similar thing has happened with my store. I had to make some patches after some server mods a few weeks ago and everything was working fine but now after a few weeks, and no more changes, the orders process without any error but the payment method on the order page in the admin section reads "Credit Class Error" and when I uninstall the Credit Class Error module the payment method reads "Authorize.net AIM" but there is no record of the transaction on Authorize.net. It just stopped working for no apparent reason.

I'm having the same problem. I did no modification to the SQL database, Authorize.net settings, or any of the checkout pages and it looks like authorize.net just stopped working period. I'm using the business card that has always worked before; no one has been able to complete purchase for over a day now. Any help?

I've scoured the web; other people have had this problems but all the forums peeter out with no solution. I believe the problem is not in the authorizenet_aim.php file, has to do with the hosting company, SSL, or database. I believe it has to do with the settings in the admin panel.

The reason being is I hadn't previously touched the actual payment php files (neither had anyone else) and people have had this problem across different hosting companies. Also I found out my site was hacked; I have Header Tags SEO installed and some of the page titles were amended with xxx, porn, etc. I use 1password and have different logins/pw for all my various accounts. It seems that the damage thus far has been caused solely in what can be accessed from the oscommerce admin section.

Regarding the Authorize.net AIM:

When I select "update" there are three fill-forms for "Login Username" but the second two are blank and also display blank when confirmed. I assume because that is for sensitive information like the transaction key and whatnot. Just thought I'd mention it. I've also tried uninstalling, changing keys, etc suggested in other places. Nothing worked so at this point I'm grasping at straws.

The specific error I am getting is:

"This transaction cannot be accepted. - Your credit card could not be authorized for this reason. Please check your billing address and try again."

The actual orders aren't even being sent to Auhtorize.net because there are no unsettled or declined transactions (Thank God!), so whatever is broken is gets broken inside of oscommerce.

Suggestions?

Glen,

Had this happen once while I was with Auth.net- (I have since changed to another processor). But, check with your host, make sure that they have not made any changes or upgrades to the PHP/Apache version on your server. After my host did a seemingly very minor change in a security setting on my server, Auth.Net stopped working. Not sure who your host is, but make sure you talk to someone who REALLY knows what's going on. It wasn't until I talked to the 5th or 6th person that we were able to figure out what happened.
