Can't test it (on IE6 now which obviously works) but I like it.

You can contribute your code "as is", that's the beauty of open source,

bugs will be discovered far more quicker that way.

This has already been done by someone, and I'm not on about the one Steve did from Alpine hosting.

I cant remember the guys name, which is a shame cos he was a very nice guy.

You can see it in action on Matt's site here:

I have the code somewhere if you want to compare it?

It looks like it is NOT the same script.

I used the coolMenu from www.dhtmlcentral.com and wrote a script which parses all osC-categories.

The guy you mentioned used another JavaScript that looks pretty much the same but the code is very different :?

I'm going to test HIS menu with all browsers and then decide whether or not to release my srcipt as a contribution under the terms of the GPL.

Hi,

the one i used was contributed by: John Guerra on 2/9/2003

it is based on the HV Menu Javascript from Dynamic Drive.

Functional in all major DHTML browsers- IE4+, NS4, NS6+, Opera7+

more info on the HV Menu at: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex1/...vmenu/index.htm

the great contribution from John Guerra (thanks! btw) is available in the contributions section somewhere.

I like the alpha blending (or whatever it's called) effect in the posters version, i wonder if the hv menu script can do this also :)

Cheers

Do you know the name of this contribution or which area of the contribution section it is under? I'd like to try this one out.

Thanks very much for the link...can I be really cheeky  ...do you have any idea how I can get this working?

I have edit my column_left to include a new box called menu (menu.php) but have no idea how to embed this script to work in the box.

I know you are probably really busy but it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ivan

Matt

Sorry to keep harassing you!!!

Thanks for the file, I have amended the files as per the instructions, but I don't know what to do with the zip file in the extras directory.

I've unzipped and put the 2 js files in the extras directory of the site but there is no menu on the site just a blank area underneath the categories box.

Any more help greatly appreciated

Thanks,

Ivan
