In the readme file which is included with the module it says to copy

/epdq_cpi/callback.php

/epdq_cpi/.htaccess

/epdq_cpi/.htpasswd

to the root of your website.

Is the root in this case the public_html directory or the one above it?

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm just a beginner and I can't seem to get it to work either way.

The root of the website is basically the catalog/ directory, you should make sure you have a password and username for the .htpasswd file and edit the .htaccess file accordingly. The password SHOULD be encrypted using SALT. The encryption will be server based, so if you don't know what encryption it's using you'll have to ask assistance from you server service provider.

Hope this helps
