Additional field on invoice

Hi all

 

I am trying to revamp my invoices, so that each product also shows a 'tax code' which indicates the rate of tax in force for that item

 

I plan on looking up the tax class id and getting the 'tax code' from there.

 

I have been able to amend the code to allow me to allocate a 'tax code' , but I am having problems getting that to carry over to the customer basket, then onto the order_products so that it then shows on the invoice.

 

So I guess my question is, dispite trying many things in order.php, checkout_process.php etc, I am still not sure of how to pull this new field and add it to the cart then carry it to the order.

 

Any ideas, I know i may not have explained it so well, so please do ask me any thing you need
