Recommended Posts

Jim,

Thanks for this great contribution. It's just what I needed !

I've install it and It's working ok, but I've only one problem:

in product_info.php the name of the document isn't display, you can see the category name and the icon of the document

You can see it in:

http://www.nitexworld.com.ar/product_info....;products_id=54

This are my stylesheet:

.documents_heading {font-weight: bold; font-size: 9pt; background:#ffffff;}

.documents_category {font-weight: bold; font-style: italic; font-size: 11pt; margin-top: 5px; margin-bottom: 1px; background:#ffffff; color: #cc0033;}

.document_type {font-weight: bold; font-size: 9pt; background:#ffffff; color: #999999;}

.document {font-weight: normal; font-size: 9pt; height: 1.5em; background:#ffffff; color: #999999;}

.document a {

color: #D00A0A;

font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;

font-size: 10px;

text-decoration: underline;

}

can you help me??

Thanks

Andrea

Everything is there, but your font color is so light it can't be seen. Change the color value for the document class in your stylesheet.

Jim,

thanks for your reply, but I've change the styles and nothing happens:

.documents_heading {font-weight: bold; font-size: 9pt; background:#ffffff;}

/* Category names on catalog/documents.php */

.documents_category {font-weight: bold; font-style: italic; font-size: 11pt; margin-top: 5px; margin-bottom: 1px; background:#ffffff; color: #cc0033;}

/* Description on catalog/includes/modules/documents.php (Used on catalog/product_info.php) */

.document_type {font-weight: bold; font-size: 9pt; background:#ffffff; color: #999999;}

/* Document name on catalog/includes/modules/documents.php (Used on catalog/product_info.php) */

.document {

font-weight: normal;

font-size: 9pt;

height: 1.5em;

background:#ffffff;

color: #000000;

}

/* Document link on catalog/includes/modules/documents.php (Used on catalog/product_info.php) */

.document a {

color: #000000;

font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;

font-size: 10px;

text-decoration: underline;

}

The code in product_info is:

<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">

<tr><td><?php if (DOCUMENTS_SHOW_PRODUCT_INFO == 'True') {

include_once (DIR_WS_MODULES . FILENAME_DOCUMENTS);

} ?></td>

</tr>

<tr><td height="17"></td></tr>

</table>

Do you know what is happening?

thanks

Andrea

That should work. Look at the source code of that page. This is what I see:

<span class="document_type">Software:</span> <span class="document"><a href="http://www.nitexworld.com.ar/documents/software/amv_convert.zip" target="_new">MP3 player utilities [5,784 k] <img src="images/icons/tgz_small.png" border="0" alt="" width="16" height="16"></a></span><br>		</td>

Any styles applied to the document class should work.

Jim

I have tried to install the SQL, and i get the following error.

#1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 AUTO_INCREMENT=1' at line 11

Can anyone help?

Looks like a great contribution by the way.

You have an older version of MySQL, so it doesn't recognize part of the SQL. Remove the DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 AUTO_INCREMENT=1 wherever it occurs and it should work.

Thanks now removed that command and get the following error.

#1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'INSERT INTO `configuration_group` (`configuration_group_id`, `c

I know this relates to the ID number as pointed out in the warning, but i have changed the ID many times and still get the error.

How do you find the next id in PHPmyadmin?

That's not the right error message for an index conflict. Check that you didn't remove the semicolon at the end of the previous block. It should end with ENGINE=MyISAM;

Hi there,

does anyone know if it is possible to have a history of viewed/downloaded files? Just like you have with the products I would like to know how many times some files where downloaded.

Nope, nothing. That's the weird part.

Hi Jim,

I've installed the whole contribution again, but still I have issues with displaying the downloads on catalog/documents.php. In product_info.php the downloads are available and ready for download (you can see the link and it actually works).

But on the documents.php-page the problem still exists that only the extension of the file is being displayed but not the actual file itself and therefor the link also doesn't work.

I haven't changed a bit at catalog/documents.php or includes/modules/documents.php so I really don't understand.

Please take a look at my store:

Documents-page itself where the downloads don't work

and

A product where the downloads work

kind regards,

marcus

Both of those pages are showing broken image links. That seems to indicate a problem with your configuration settings. This Contribution also depends on those settings, so I think that's your problem. You need to fix your catalog/includes/configure.php.

Hi Jim,

I don't understand what you mean by 'both of those pages are showing broken image links'. On product_info.php the links are working fine and anyone can download the pdf-files.

But on documents.php the links are not working fine. So there's nothing wrong with configure.php.

I have these 2 lines added to configure.php just like the instructions said:

define('DIR_WS_DOCUMENTS', 'documents/');

define('DIR_FS_CATALOG_DOCUMENTS', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'documents/');

Also in the admin everything is working fine, so it's just the file shop/documents.php which indicates to have a problem. I just don't understand what's wrong....

kind regards,

Marcus

I was seeing no images on either page. I just tried again and the images seem to be working now. Possibly some sort of temporary problem, since your product page was also giving me an Invalid Certificate error.

I also don't understand the problem. Try removing the .htaccess from the documents folder and see if that changes anything.

Regards

Jim

Hi,

I just can't get documents.php to work fine. Nothing works. Even removing the .htaccess file. I just don't get it why modules/documents.php is working fine and catalog/documents.php isn't.

I don't understand it either. It works fine on my test site and on two live stores I've added it to. Other people have used it as well.

It must be something in your store settings or your server settings. You'll just have to debug it on your server. I can't fix a problem that I can't see.

This is the support thread for the Documents Manager contribution.

Document Manager allows you to manage free downloadable documents related to your products. These documents are attractive to both customers and search engines. Documents can be listed on separate pages and on the associated product page. The main features can be controlled from the Admin.

Screenshots are provided in the package.

Hi Jim,

i have fixed an problem in admin/documents.php.

When more then 20 documents in the folder i can't go to next side 2.

my fix in display_links near line 524:

<td class="smallText" align="right"><?php echo $documents_split->display_links($documents_query_numrows, MAX_DISPLAY_SEARCH_RESULTS, MAX_DISPLAY_PAGE_LINKS, $HTTP_GET_VARS['page'], tep_get_all_get_params(array('page', 'oID', 'action'))); ?></td>

Then i have an next problem:

In Admin all it's working. I never can see the documents!

Then i change in documents.php the $type variable to 1 and then i see my documents.

Can you help me?

Thanks for the code, I'll fix that in the next release.

You need to follow one of the links to catalog/documents.php. Entering the file directly won't set the $type.

Hello,

im already instaled the document manager "pdf_upload - V2.01" because i need to have 2 individual sheets for each product (chemical products). That problem i have is that i need in a multilanguage version. For each product i have to put a security datasheet an a technical datasheet in the respective language. Can you help me to solve this problem ? or is there already a contribution for this kind of problem.

sorry for the english but im from belgium an my main language is french or german.

Thanks for info or help

I don't remember the Addon that you installed very well, but I do remember that it only allows for two documents per product. You would need to modify it to be language-specific.

Unfortunately, this one is also not language-specific. You could probably make it work with a bit of additional code in your catalog/product_info.php if that's all you want to use. The catalog/documents.php file would take more modification unless you want to show documents in all languages.

I probably should fix this some day. If I ever have the time.

Jim

it seems that the documents aren't shown correctly. I have three pdf-files within one category but only one is showing up with a title, but with 3 pdf-file links. Except that the links are to .pdf instead of document1.pdf.

Who to solve this second issue?

Hi, same problem here.. Do you have solved this problem Marcus?

All my documents linked to .pdf, instead of $document['name'].pdf

Greetings,

Dennis
