problem with sizes and colors not showing up on orders

I am new to OSCommerce (from the Zen Cart crowd) and have something I can figure out. When someone places an order where I can find out what the size and color ordered was. On the order / invoice / packing list it ony has the product name. Is there an email I should be getting with the relevant (and important) information that I must not be getting?
