Thanks Johnnyo,

but still no joy with your postnuke rss file.

I am using pn.726 & using your rss.php gives more or less the same results - product title but no image or price & now the product title link doesn't work - it adds some extra bits at the end of the url...

any other ideas??

daithi, Im sorry I haven't been following these posts. I'm also sorry that file didn't work out for you. That file was for .723 but should have worked for .726, I'm almost starting to think I sent you the wrong one.

Anyhow I do have a better solution, howabout a full integration of osCommerce and Postnuke standalones, check this out, just came out.

I'm somewhat familiar with the work of Neo at http://www.samstech.net and MagicX at http://www.portalzine.de and they are well worth checking out. I've had my disageements with them but that's just me, they still put out a good product.

I'm just about ready to kick this up, (osc and postnuke) http://techrealms.com/main1

thanks johnnyo & sorry I haven't been following the posts either.

Had a look at http://www.samstech.net/modules.php?op=mod...=article&sid=24 and it looks great.

However while waiting for it to finish, I put a postnuke block together that should work with pn.726 - it is now at:

Thanks, Daithi.

Hi All

I have been trying to get this contrib up and running but I am not getting any response from the rss.php script. It appears to hang somewhere before it even tries to give a response to the browser. There's no error message.

The Postnuke RSS block is not working but I am assuming that if the rss.php will not return a page of xml values, then the RSS block is not going to either.

Any ideas please.

cheers

Tony

I put the code in between the <head></head> tags, but then i get an error on screen saying

Warning: reset(): Passed variable is not an array or object in C:\Domains\dollshouses4you.co.uk\wwwroot\catalog\index.php on line 42

Warning: Variable passed to each() is not an array or object in C:\Domains\dollshouses4you.co.uk\wwwroot\catalog\index.php on line 43

Is this where you put the code?

Are these the html headers?

Thanks

OK, a question for the eggheads. This is a theoretical query, but one which I would probably have a use for, and I would imagine that as time goes by more and more people would find a use and/or a need for...

Is it possible (OK, I know its possible, just not how to do it) to amend this rss feed so that it displays other elements from a site - i.e. news feeds, links directories, faq sections etc etc.?

If so, how do you go about doing so? I have been reading up all night on the possibilities of rss, and apart from the little caveat that I am a little worried it could lead to yet more "affiliate" sites and websites which have NO original content of their own, I think it has real potential and will probably signal the new wave of web development.

As yet I haven't managed to get my head around tweaking it within osc, so if anybody out there has already managed to contort their head into this one, please share..... :blush:

Please note - if I have suggested a contrib above, it doesnt mean it will work! Most of the contribs are not ones I've used, but may be useful for your particular problem....

Have you tried a refined search? Chances are your problem has already been dealt with elsewhere on the forums.....

if (stumped == true) {

return(square_one($start_over)

} else {

$random_query = tep_fetch_answer($forum_query)

}

First, this is a great contrib. It was exactly what I was looking for.

Second, has anyone modified this to work with the featured products contrib? I would like to have an rss feed of the featured products. Now, that would be awesome.

I just got the same problem after adding that line in the head section. There is something causing it to mess with the $lng->catalog_languages variable by the time you get to the languages.php and line 40-41(42-43 in your case). I've been trying to figure out why but i've come out blank. If anybody can think of a workaround for that little piece of code in the head, please share.

Weirdly, it worked for a few minutes after i installed the contribution then the warnings started coming up

I managed to install this contribution but I have a few problems. The contribution appear to be correct but if I try to read the information with a RRS reader everything is showing correctly except the pictures, the pictures are not showing. And second if I try to check the validation I get the following error:

line 20, column 2: Undefined item element: image (18 occurrences) [help]

<image> ^

. Please feel free to check the feeds and suggest something.

The feeds are:

http://www.cexy.co.uk/rssfeed.php
