Optimising products for search engines

Guest

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am looking for a simple way to set up the products so that search engines can find them. Currently I am entering this at the top of each product. Not sure if this achieves anything??

<meta name="description" content="Mawandi Hyper Discount Store. Online directory. South African Online Shopping." />

<meta name="keywords" content="Online Shopping South Africa, beetle certificate" />

Any suggestions??

Thanks

Francois

HI,

1ST THANKS FOR THE HELP..

I DOWNLOADED Seo Metatags v 1.2 - Sep 8 2005I AND MADE THE CHANGES AS DIRECTED.

WHAT NOW?? WHEN I ADD A NEW PRODUCT OR CATAGORY I SEE NO VISIBLE DIFFERENCE.

This add-on allows you to have a TITLE, KEYWORDS and DESCRIPTION in the <head> tag for

all categories and each product. WHERE AND HOW DO I INSERT THESE???

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

REGARDS

FRANCOIS

No, I don't think entering meta data into the product description will achieve anything useful. There are tons of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) mods for OSC, that will be your best bet.

Here are a couple:

Good luck!
