Live Support phpOnline

Recommended Posts

This is the support forum for the addon Live Support phpOnline: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/5795

This is a fully featured and FREE Live Support software for your osC installation. It allows multiple administrative users, client side themes, and a slick admin interface. It is integrated into the catalog as an infobox and integrated into the osC admin as a clickable header graphic. Both the catalog and admin operate through javascript popups. All credit goes to Dayana Networks Ltd. who created this fabulous software. I just modified it to suit osC (they had even done the footwork for creating an infobox!).

This package includes the latest version of the phpOnline live chat software (2.1.3)

99% of my support requests involve those who do not read the following to obtain the default admin login/password located in the usage doc:

Admin Area:
You may wait for a customer using:
 http://www.yourdomain.com/phponline/admin.php
 or
 http://www.yourdomain.com/phponline/staff.php
(default login information is: username->admin password->adm123 , Change the
  password ASAP)

Thanks for using my addon! Look at this post: http://www.dayanahost.com/forum2/index.php...3&hl=secure

To remove the link, you'd need to pay for registration. It is $50 and replaces their name with your business name.

Once the moderators approve the upload due to file size, Live Support phpOnline v1.2 is out: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/5795

Since v1.1

----------

* The catalog infobox and admin popup were using the same javascript popup function which means

they'd replace each other if clicked rather than opening up 2 separate windows, this is remedied

* Added instructions for those with SSL to secure the application

* Added the default admin username and password to the instructions to avoid confusion

* Added further TESTING section

Dear Scott,

I used the last version you uploaded dated: 1 Sep 2008 and added the SSL as you explained.

Everything works for me great.

Do you think I should reinstall again the last version you uploaded date 19 Nov 2008 ?

Or there are some little changes for a few files, that I can modify them one by one ?

Best Regards,

Nathali

Nathali,

If you download v1.2, it explains exactly what to do to update your installation from v1.1->v1.2 in the installation instructions. There are only 2 small changes in the addon and not changes to the core phpOnline files.

Hello Scott!

This live support mod works beautifully! Thanks for the contribution! Even managed to match the client chat box to my website with photoshop! I'm using the status indicater 1= flash based in my info box at the moment. I would prefer to use the image based indicator, but cannot get the offline/online jpgs to show. Instead, I getting the "no Image".jpg when I change the status indicator to "2" in the live_support.php. I've checked- the jpgs are uploaded to the image folder... in fact the same folder the "no image.jpg" is pulling from ......I'm missing something here???

Thanks for any advice!

You cave to copy the images that you want to use (the jpg files from the 1, 2, or 3 folder) and overwrite the default ones in the live_support/images folder...

Thanks for your help Scott. I do have the online/offline jpgs uploaded to my phponline/images folder. When I check the properties of the missing jpg. it's being pulled from the "images folder. I've tried loading the pictures into "/images folder and also "phponline/images. Neither works. The image is pulled from the statusimage.php correct?

Well, I must have a conflict somewhere. I renamed the online.jpg in my phponline/images folder as no_image.jpg. Doesn't show. Then I placed the renamed image in my "/images folder and it shows in my live support info box. Doesn't signal online/offline status of course, but it shows. Still not correct...

Scott,

I think the conflict I'm having with the status 2 setting in live support.php and the status image is with the On_the_fly Auto Thumbnailer 2.4 mod I have installed. I believe I read on the dayana phponline forum that someone had an issue with this at one time, but thought it was fixed in a later version. But the "no_image.jpg" that appears in the live support info box ( when set to status 2 in livesupport.php) is the default image with the on_the_fly thumbnailer mod. And it's being pulled from my "/images folder instead of my "phponline/images folder as it should. Until I figure out how to correct that I'm sticking with the status 1 flash image setting that works beautifully. I read recently that customers are more likely to use a live chat system than use a 800 toll free line you might have listed on your site. So, thanks again for the contribution and support thread.

Hello,

I installed this add-on (which is great, by the way) and was having problems with the javascript in my admin panel, so I removed that aspect of it. It was adding code to my configuration, so naow I just open a new browser window for my admin.php and can assist customers from there. Works for me...

Anyway, I added the https stuff and javascript on the client.php file. Everything works great, but the client pop-up window does not say https://ayurvedayogashop.com/live_support/client.php, as I assumed it would. It is a regular http://... instead.

Anything I missed there?

Thanks,

Yol

Sure, thanks! I am just wondering if that is the normal behavior, or if I messed something up...

did you change the link in catalog/includes/boxes/live_support.php to:

$phpOnline_base_url = "https://www.your_store.com/live_support";

Yep, and also in the links to macromedia. Basically all the http:// became https:// there, so there were 3 links changed in that file.

I have the same problem with no image. I'm using Additional images contribution.

Flash option works but always shows online status.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Marios.

Marios,

i'm not familiar with that addon - my guess is that your going to have to mod the infobox to pull from the correct directory, the one specified in the install doc for additonal images, but it is just a guess.

Great contribution. Thanks a lot for doing this.

When I log into my admin panel in the News window I get a message saying:

ERROR:

I can connect to MYSQL but can not check the tables.

My database is local and I created the user will all rights except grant.

Any suggestions how to fix this, do I need to worry about it?

Thanks angain.
