eewalker1939 0 Posted August 9, 2008 Anyone? I cannot determine why I am getting all the duplicate categories and manufacturers. I really need this contribution. Note: I have Ultimate SEO URL and easymetatags installed. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

eewalker1939 0 Posted August 22, 2008 Yes, I have a same problem. I guess we are not going to get an answer to this problem. I am going to look for another sitemap module. I really liked this one, if would only work. Have you tried any other modules?
Jack_mcs 1,046 Posted August 22, 2008 The sitemap creation addtion to this contribution was unnecessary and done incorrectly. It should not be used (the sitemap generation, not the actual sitemap) for the very reason you state. That is the purpose of the google sitemap contribution. Jack Support Links: Need Help? Let me see if I understand this. I should remove files and references to "CREATE_XML_SITEMAPS" from the installation process. The remaining installation will create my onsite sitemap for customer viewing. Then I should download and use the Google Sitemap contribution to produce my XML sitemaps. Will that do it? I do appreciate your help. I have been wrestling with this for sometime now. Eddie

Jack Jack, Having given it some more thought, I decided to uninstall the V4.0.1 contribution and then installed the v1.6. I will now look at the Google sitemap contibution. I won't touch the Dynamc Sitemap install unless you think some other later contributions would be advisable. Thanks for your help and guidance. Eddie
Jack_mcs 1,046 Posted August 23, 2008 There was no reason to uninstall it. I was saying just not to use that sitemap portion, "CREATE_XML_SITEMAPS," in admin. The actual sitemap files would probably need to be deleted too. The basic function of the dynamic sitemap contribuiton is still a good thing to have since it provides quick links to your products for the search engines as well as visitors to your site. Jack Understand. Thanks. The V 1.6 version seems to be doing fine for the site sitemap and Google Sitemap add-on created an acceptable sitemap for Google. So I am fine for now. I do appreciate you responding to my plea for help and for providing very good guidance. Eddie
