rubygirl
cc do you know if the cross sell mod works on more recent snapshots? Some of the contribs that I have tried working with need quite a bit of re-doing when mixing with Nov and later snapshots. just curious... CC
Yes it does mate. I have it running on mine. You just might need to change obvious things, like the breadcrumb trail etc. CC.

Salvo
Yes it does mate. I have it running on mine. You just might need to change obvious things, like the breadcrumb trail etc. CC. Hi CC, I have just seen it in action in your site, but can you tell me what is the difference between the contribution (cross Selling) and the module which comes with the osc? Thanks Salvo
CC
With Cross Sell you actually decide what shows up in that box. So you chose what to cross sell. The standard 'also bought' box is controlled by the site. CC.

I actually wanted the one I controlled myself but I wasn't told about the contribution, I was told about osc module... Now, if the contribution is used, what happen to the osc module? does it have to be commented or the contrubution uses the osc module? CC
Nope thats the best ting about cross sell. If you install it but dont chose to cross sell any products, then the 'also bought' box show up instead! You get one or the other, but not both. Although I suppose you could have both if you wanted. So you get the best of both worlds. CC.

Salvo
Well done CC, I have just installed the X selling contribution... very nice... I have just I though. How difficult would be to add an admin part of it to insert/delete/amend X-Selling Product? Has it been done? is it on the way? At mement I am useing myphpadmin to insert int table but would be nice to be able to to insert via admin Thanks again Salvo
blueline
For those of you who are using the X-sell module, I highly reccomend taking a look at Family Products. http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=31779 This is kind of like Cross-sell, but better admin controls, and much easier to maintain. Does a few more things too. New release is coming soon, but for now this is a hit. Hope this helps, -Chris Quote Chris Sullivan

blueline
Salvo, No. Go ahead and give it a try. The new release will be coming soon...maybe 2 weeks or so. I just need the time to accomplish everything I was to go into version 2.0. let me know what you think once you have it installed and working. -Chris Quote Chris Sullivan

blueline
Salvo, That's what the Changes file is for. It will tell you what to change/add. It just occured to me that the changes file is incomplete when it comes to the admin/categories file. Just open up the categories.php file, and changes.txt and go from there. I will rewrite the changes file tonight and post it. Thanks, -Chris Quote Chris Sullivan
