contact short captcha v1-2 and PHP5 / MYSQL 5

Since I switched my server to PHP 5 / MYSQL 5 the captcha doesn't showing up anymore. GD is installed an works fine in other scripts. Folder and File permissions are set. Anyone who had similar problems and could solve it?

I use CRE Loaded and I had the same problem. I just ended up commenting out the captcha code, in the account sign up and contact forms, and the defined values in my english.php file (not sure what your corresponding file is in OSC).
