Cheaper Postage (UK)

BRWG

Recommended Posts

hi guys,

i am based in the UK and i am looking for a cheaper way to post parcels (atm Royal mail seem to offer the best options).i am soon to be starting my own online store that will (hopefully) be dispatching alot of parcels both to the UK and abroad.

Does anyone know of any cheaper options than royal mail? (The average parcel is likely to weigh from 300g to 1.5kg, and measuring anything from 10x15x5cm to 30x30x15cm)

i have also noticed that if i send over 100 a week (or something like that) then i can get a Bulkmail discount with royal mail, but i am unsure if i will dispatch quite that many. Does anyone know if this can be split, i.e i send 50 a week, my friend sends 50 from his business?

Any suggestions are appreciated,

Thankyou for your time in reading this,

Karl,

hi karl,

i've been looking into postage rates too recently and packetpost is cheapest, as u mention, but I'm pretty sure it has to all be collected from one address. Parcel2Go.com is cheap for heavier parcels at £7.27 for up to 25kg.

i've also looked at franking machines as they offer around 11% discount on standard rates but cost around £200 a year. if you find any other options i'd be interested to know.

regards,

james
