OSC-Affiliate

Recommended Posts

Hi...

In /catalog/includes/affiliate_configure.php

define('AFFILIATE_SHOW_BANNERS_DEBUG', 'true'); // Debug for affiliate_show_banner.php; If you have difficulties geting banners set to true,

// and try to load the banner in a new Browserwindow

// i.e.: http://yourdomain.com/affiliate_show_banne...ate_banner_id=3

Hey, I've tried everything to get banners to show. I'm a rooky too and sure it's something simple. Even offered to pay over at the Snowman forum. Sure wish there was a Pay To Install option because I would gladly do so at this point. Everything is working except for banners and one other thing.

It's odd that the code to display images in 'Preview' works just fine but everywhere else the path is broken and no images.

After you add a new banner in 'Admin'...there's a little small square graphic that shows up to the left of the banner listing. Click on that and it will pop up the image.

Anyone know the answer to my recent question??? :(

When I try to sign up as a "test" affiliate, I get the "welcome email" but it says this:

Your Affiliate ID is:

This is the problem....the affiliate ID is blank!

I don't get issued with an affiliate ID.

And, also, my "test" sign up doesnt show in my store admin area.

Have I done something wrong here????

Thanks,

overlooked that one.

in my admin nor in shop panel the banners show up. I think this has to do with setting up the shop without catalog directory. thats why the links are messed up.

Please help. my affilaite program has stopped generating id numbers and is not adding to data base although affiliate is receiving welcome e-mail. I have many affiliates e-mailing and I do not know what is wrong. It was working fine but stopped after affiliate 6. I did delete 3 affiliates due to not suitable websites but it was working after deletion as affiliate 6 created an account. I am lost - can someone please tell me what has gone wrong?

Thanks

I too have a problem with the affiliate program no longer generating an id number? It was working fine on all levels and then just stopped, but e-mails are working. When you go to log in after account creation it claims no account exists and a check of database shows no entry has registered.

Without wanting to appear rude surely someone else on this forum has had the same issue or would have some idea of what may have gone wrong?

There are now three of us with the same issue in one week and the only answer that can be found is rentacoder? Not all of us can afford the $80 to $100 to find out what just may be a very simple solution.

I am aware that this forum is busy, but the wasn't the idea of this forum initially to assist others with issues pertaining to oscommerce? It is extremely frustrating to post questions in this forum regarding real issues and not receive any help at all. Especially after scouring forum questions for days, reading documentation (if it exists) and as a last resort reaching out a hand for help only to find none is there. There are hundereds of simple questions asked in this forum everyday that if people just took the time to search for they could find. Like how do I change index page, colors of boxes, graphics etc. These questions are always answered promptly. So excuse me if I seem a little peeved that after 2 days of searching for a solution I am less than satisfied with the answers given to others who have the same issue and what I consider to be an important issue for those of us who are trying to make a living from their stores.

To mikeyj and reanju - if I get it figured out I will be sure to post so you and others can benefit from what is obviously not an isolated issue.

To anyone that has an idea - your knowledge would be much appreciated by at least three of us.

hmmm, why am I not surprised that neither of us have had a reply. I would think that someone else has experienced this same problem and found a solution.

Sorry brajes but I still haven't worked it out. Am about to delete and re-install, will have to manually add affiliates and advise of password change. If this works will post and let you know. Although like you mine was working fine so this won't solve issue if it happens again?

Am equally frustrated that no one bothers to answer, even a "try this" would be helpful for those of us with little knowledge. Had heard great things about oscommerce and its support forum, sadly am yet to experience.

I just tested my affiliate and it works correctly. New affiliate was added and email received correctly. What PHP version are you guys using on your server. That is the only thing that comes to mind.

Mine is php 4.3.4.

(btw, you can check your php version under admin -> tools -> server info)

Hi Safoo,

May I know what version of osC Affiliate you are using? Is it 13 Oct 2003 - osC Affiliate v2.02? How long have you been using? Can osC Affiliate handle more than 100?

Thanks for your information. :D :D

Hmm..before I begin, may I just point out that it's not vey nice to "slag off" the OSCAffiliate project.

I haven't been a member of these forums long, but I have seen that Henri and Co. work very hard to create these codes for us.

Also...don't forget that oscAffiliate is still in its early stages.

Anyway...

THE MAIN PART.....

Hello Henri.

Just to verify, I am running on PHP 4+.

Also....I downloaded the Oct 13th contrib.

Is this YOUR version Henri???

Just like the other guys here, my oscaffiliate worked at first but then went wrong... (not generating IDs.)

''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''

I'd like to finish this post with my appreciation with such a great software package, i.e. oscCommerce.

It has made my site look and run fantastic. :)

Ah...upon checking the contribs section, it seems like I downloaded Steve's updated version. (Version 2 I do believe)

As this is no normal behavier, I can't tell anything about it.

The only possibility is to find out what and where is something going wrong (happy debugging ;) )

First have a look at the database, are the fileds alrigt (i.e. the auotoincrement)

then you have to check why the inserts aren't working. (perhaps setting the php error level to be more specific (notice) could help)...

I am using 2.02, the latest one. I had to make some changes to the files to get the banners to display correctly. If I get time I'll try to run 'beyond compare' to see what I changed from the stock download, but I don't ever recall the email IDs not working; I only had problems with banners.

Hmm..before I begin, may I just point out that it's not vey nice to "slag off" the OSCAffiliate project.

Firstly I would like to point out that i was not "slagging off" the oscaffilliate project. I was venting my frustration at what I believe to be an important problem that I could get no help with. I believe oscaffiliate to be an excellent program as I do the whole oscommerce project, having previously used agora cart. There is no comparison, And when it was working I could not have asked for better. However when it stopped generating ID numbers for no reason it was a concern as I had also invested money to announce affiliate program as by all accounts it was running fine. My website is my main source of income so when i really needed some help, after not receiving one answer at all after several days and having tried every avenue I obviously vented my frustration. But at NO time did my post intend to slag off oscaffiliate.

If you were not equally frustrated after several posts requesting help with no reply and trying all avenues without sucess to fix, you are a better person than I!

I still can not get it to work and have re-installed all files. I have not deleted sql files yet.

So here is my question?

If I delete all files in sql and run query again to see if this fixes can I manually re-enter all my affiliates if I copy all data fields included encrypted passwords by re-inserting into data base via php admin?

And I am using oscaffiliate version 2.02 and php my admin 4.3.3 (Zend: 1.3.0)

When I attempt to set up a dummy affiliate account it all looks like success, except when I hit continue it shows stats page with heading

your Affilate ID is (blank) although I can access all affilate links in box at this time, banner code generated does not have a referral id, and when I attempt log out it claims I was not logged in, will not allow me to log in and data base is empty of any info entered. Affiliate id is set to auto increment, I have removed all traces from data base of all references to previous deleted affiliates. I just have no idea what could have gone wrong.

This also only started after deleting 4 affiliates including a previous test account. Yes I am at a loss and frustrated - forgive me....

Hi all,

I just installed v2.02 on Milestone 2 and got the following error popping up:

Parse error: parse error in /../../../httpdocs/includes/application_top.php on line 554

Warning: main(DIR_WS_LANGUAGES/FILENAME_DEFAULT): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /../../../httpdocs/index.php on line 33

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'DIR_WS_LANGUAGES/FILENAME_DEFAULT' (include_path='.:/usr/local/psa/apache/lib/php') in /../../../httpdocs/index.php on line 33

I've been through the whole thread (not a fun thing to do since there are 100 pages  ) but couldn't see anything.

Anyone have any idea where I went wrong? :(
