First Item plus Additonal Per Zone per Category - How?

Basically I want to extend First Item flat cost plus additional items flat cost per zone to

First Item flat cost plus additional items flat cost per zone per category or sub-category

Each category has a first item plus additional item cost

C1(first)(zone), C1(additional)(zone)

C2(first), C2(additions)

If 1 from each category add the first costs – C1(first) + C2(first)

If 2 from a category C1(first) + C1(additional)

If 2 from C1, 3 from c2, 1 from c3 = C1(first) + C1(additional) + C2(first) + C2(additional) + C2(additional) + C3(first)

I sell things that don't go together shipping wise: One category is posters (in tubes cost one thing and each additional is very little extra shipping), one category apparel (in box cost one thing and each additional is very little extra shipping but different to posters), One category is boxed toys (in boxes each item additional is significant)

Extending the First Item flat rate cost per zone to be sub category specific should address this i would imagine and it shouldn't be that hard even if it has to be coded into the shipping module what the costs are per category and get the category id's in the module - i imagine the complex part is the working out on the shipping page which category the item is in although this could be added to check out process to pass that variable into the shipping module

any ideas?

Hi mate,

I have created the special contribution based on "First Item $X, Additional Items $Y Shipping" contribution, enable to select the category of the products.

Please read this line: Do you want to find all the answers to your questions? click here. As for contribution database it's located here!

8 people out of 10 don't bother to read installation manuals. I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself.

Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues.

Any issues with oscommerce, I am here to help you.
