Добрый вечер мой друг,

Надейтесь, что ваш день подходил.

The colours definitely look better this time. Brown out Blue in! Gotta comment about the buttons though. The default buttons actually match your new theme and the buy-now, which looks good by itself, does not fit the theme colours.

I liked the Logo Font and how the blues fade and fold through the white lettering.

You can call me "Stranger" as long as you don't call me "stranger than..." Sort of a refreshing change from being greeted as "Welcome Guest".

I liked the how the Privacy Policy is spelled out. The duplicate content on Conditions and Shipping & Returns is very specific, hard for anyone to misunderstand. Since the "Conditions" part is only two paragraphs long, maybe you could just drop the conditions page and just keep the Shipping & Returns page? Two pages of duplicate content is nothing to google. I might be just nit-picking too much.

"BaseStationZero is a PayPal verified business since April 2003" is a nice confidence builder for the public, but that odd, gray font makes it hard to read.

One annoying thing, the individual product pages became too wide for my 17" monitor set at 1024 x 768 whereas the rest of the pages fit my screen nicely.

Имейте добрый вечер

Hiya Doug! Always good to read your opinions. :)

I adjusted the site a bit to fix width and colours: http://tinyurl.com/yodod2

Now, on with killing another database. Enter store #2: http://tinyurl.com/ypmluq

I installed a fresh copy of OSC onto another folder, into a different db with different names and passcodes. After installation, I copied the original page's database and copied its files (not including the config.php's) into the new folder. This should make all my edits and additional contribs show up on the new site without having to install them all again. This worked and I see that everything looks the same as the original page.

Now, on this 2nd store, I went into the admin and deleted all the items in the catalog that were carried over with the copying. I then started to upload a couple different items in this new store. So far, so good, everything on that page looks good. Then I go back to look at the 1st store... now, in the category box I see just the two items from the 2nd store. If I click on any item pictures, the new page brings up the correct categories, but when I go back to index, I see the wrong categories listed again. When I click any of the links in the wrong category listing of the 1st store, I'm taken back to the 2nd store.

Sitting on the 1st store, I clear my browser's cookies and then refresh the page - now everything's fixed! When I visit the second store, then come back to the first, the categories are screwy again. This problem seems to only happen in one direction - the 2nd site screws the cookies for the 1st, but not other way around.

So, something's up with the cookies for these two stores.

I do want to mention that I was wanting to share shopping cart cookies with all sites I install - the idea is to have people visit any of the stores in BaseStationZero Malls, order what the want from each store, then be able to check out from any of them with all items they've added in each. So they can go to one store and add books to their cart, then go to another of my stores and add a scooter to the cart, then go to my electronics store and be able to checkout there with items they've added from the other two stores.

With that, I would like to fix whatever cookie that displays each store's category box, but would like the cookie for the cart to share itself with all my stores. Can this be done?

Спасибо.

Nevermind on the categories - I turned off caching on both stores, renamed each session directory in each store, and made sure I don't "Force Cookie Use" on either. After another browser clearing, things now work. :)

I'd still like to share the cart cookie with all my sites, so if anyone knows a way to do this... I'll put you on my Christmas list for next year. ;)

As an FYI, there are 4 contributions which do similar things to that which you wish to accomplish. You may be able to pick some ideas from them.

Multi-Stores multiple shop system separate carts.

Virtual Mall Version

Multi Shops

Multi-Shop (directions in French)

Yes, caching must be off when building/testing a site. Once things are done, I would think that caching wouldn't interfere with links, etc.

The cookie domain, if the same the main domain (http://www.basestationzero.com/), can span sub-directories, I think.

Nope.

Anything else?

The reason I ask is because there are a few people who want to know where they're going before they go there.

But anyway, I see your customer realtions department is all set to go. Good luck with that.

LOL! Thanks for the update.

The reason I use tiny URL is so google doesn't start linking to pages that are not officially online yet. Once they're up and ready to go, then I'll start posting the actual URL. I also use it when the "normal" URL is too long, ie:

Actual URL: http://www.basestationzero.com/xtreme-scooters/product_info.php/cPath/26/products_id/48
Can link to: http://www.basestationzero.com/xtreme-scoo.../products_id/48

Also, some forums and sites can break long URLs like that and send the visitor who-knows-where. I'd use this in its place: http://tinyurl.com/2jzxh5

OK, fair comment. Maybe I've just been posting in the wrong places . . . :D Been Goatsed a few times too many.

Oops. I had my anti-whiner switch on.

Wow, are you really saying you don't need help, and your site is perfect? Honestly, cosmetically your site is far from perfect, and rather unattractive. I'd look for all the help I could get.

Hmm, no I did not. I take it you're replying to my original contact. Can you send me another with BSZ in the subject line, or PM me here? I'll watch out for it. :)

-AF,

Which contribution or code did you use for your dhtml menu. Or better yet, how did you modify your code?

I tried two contributions from addons.oscommerce.com but neither seem to work for me.

Redbone: It's the "Fancy Lightbox Popup". Such an easy installation!

Debd: I've blocked access from Australia because of either bots, spammers or some other reason. Sorry, but sometimes it's just easier to block an entire country than it is to keep adding IP addresses to the list. Actually, if it wasn't for this forum, I'd usually only accept visits from China, the UK, Canada, the US, and Mexico. They're the only ones that have business being on my site - I don't buy from, sell to, or ship for any others.

Doug: The menu was designed from this: http://jscook.yuanheng.org/JSCookMenu/index.html - It can be vertical (like on my site) or horizontal depending on a few code edits. There's also a fall-back for non-JS users which also keeps GoogleBot happy. I replaced the original menu code in catalog\includes\boxes\categories.php with this one.

CON: I have to change the menu by hand if I add or remove anything.

PRO: Changing this menu is real easy using the Menu Builder page (which can be saved onto your computer). It's the same page used to originally build the menu - can be used to edit and recode the same.

I had the dhtml menu contrib install which uses the jscookmenu code but it was wacky on my test page. I went to the source you gave me and got updated files and the panel theme. The updated javascript worked. I now have an automatically updated dhtml menu (with hardcoding for the frontpage side).

Thank you for the info.

Yes sir,

The New DHTML categories menu is what I used. Looking back, some of my problems may have stemmed from using v1.0 instead of v1.11 (I downloaded but did not get the 下載 version [coolmenu_box_1] to work). I found that the included jscookmenu code is old and refreshing it with the newer version (like the version you currently have installed) was my needed trick.

I need to work on the caching ability and maybe a way to write the cached file to javascript. (If I remember correctly, one's browser does not need to reload javascript files but keeps javascript files from page to page - refreshing them only if there has been an unlikely change.) I haven't fully developed AJ Machinery's category list, but at present it has 367 categories and sub-categories so manually tracking it is nearly impossible AND there is no need to run those quries on every page
