How to enable sts index module?

Recommended Posts

I have been trying to find an answer to a puzzle I am having regarding sts.

What I want is to have two different but very similar templates, one that will act as my main osc home page and another that will act as the template for the rest of the site.

I have been trying to find an answer in another part of this forum but am still stuck!

Now I have been told to name my first template index.php_0.html and the other template index.php.html and then enable the sts index module. Under my index in the sts module in the admin I have:

use template for index page: set to true

files for index.php template: set to sts_user_code.php

check parent templates: set to true

Can anyone tell me what I have to change to make the above changes possible?

Also, another quick question, I have designed my site at the 800 width but it looks small and as I have read most people do not use this so is it just down to personal choice between 800 and 1024? I have tried using a dreamweaver css expanding template but cant get it to work!! Its a bugger when you a newbie!!

Cheers for any help guys.
