CHMOD Problem

Hey!

I have just installed the osCommerce Online Merchant v2.2 Release Candidate 1 package onto a hosted web server (running Windows).

After completing the installation I went to the catalog and got the following error at the top of the page:

Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: e:\domains\s\srsmotorcycles.co.uk\user\htdocs\store\catalog/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file.

I generally use SmartFTP to upload files to the server and tried to change the permissions with no avail, then I tried an online FTP site provided by my host and got the following error:

Unable to execute site command chmod 0444 /htdocs/store/catalog/includes/configure.php. Note that the CHMOD command is only available on Unix FTP servers, not on Windows FTP servers

Is there a way around this? I really need to get this store going!

Thank you all for you help! ;)

If its not broken...why try fixing it??

Since it's a Windows server, I'm thinking you'll need to use the Control Panel provided by your Web Host, and make the file "read only".

;)

If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.
