Run SQL Update for Australia Post

Rubio & Berry

Recommended Posts

To All OS Commerce Gurus's,

I know this sounds stupid, but how do I update my SQL database with the Australia Post contribution.

The Instructions included with the contribution are quite detailed, but I am not sure where to copy & paste the SQL query

Do I have to re-install OS all over again as I have already deleted the install folder?

Or can I paste the query directly into mySQL query window, but where?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, but please spell it out for me step by step as I have NFI

Thanks in advance,

Murray.

Hey Murray,

Just use phpmyadmin - and it has option to Run Query.

Paste the query (it has a text box on top) and click on Go to run them one by one as readme would detail.

phpmyadmin help is always available from there site if you need to know more.

Cheers,

Gaurav

Best Regards,
Gaurav

Heres the error I'm getting when I paste the query

Error

SQL-query:

#

# Table structure for table `geo_zones`

#

DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `geo_zones`

MySQL said:

#1046 - No Database Selected

So where do I insert the name of the database?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Go to your phpMyAdmin

Choose your osC database on the left in the pull-down menu

On the right side, click on the SQL tab at the top

Then paste the sql code into the textarea on that page

Click on the GO button and you are done

I dont have that option in phpMyadmin

According to the localhost servcer I dont even have a database. Asd follows:

Welcome to phpMyAdmin 2.6.0-pl3

MySQL 3.23.58 running on localhost as username@localhost

Server: localhost

Databases Processes Export

Databases

No databases

But back at my Site Admin Control Panel I names my database there called 'rubioberry_com_-_cart' This was how I was ablke to successfully install The OS Commerce package.

Why is my phpMyAdmin not recognising that I have a database?

How can I fix this

Any advice would be gr8 :)

Kind Regards,

Muz.

Is your site on your PC or on the web? Local host indicates it is on your PC.

Is your web presence windows or unix? Windows has a different name instread of phpMyAdmin.

Site admin control panel? Is this your hosting company's control panel? If so, there should be a phpMyAdmin or similar.

My site is hosted on the web at smartyhost. Which gives me access to an SQL interface called phpMySQL. This is where I created the database, the name was used to enable the install of OScommerce.

I'm stuck.

A possible answer go to your control panel shipping module, do you have upload files and box to tick overwrite existing files, if so do it that way. (is the way i did it).
