UPS XML 1.2.8 contribution - UPS server timing out when cURL is enabled

Simply put: UPS server isn't answering when my shopping cart is knocking.

 

This is what I get from the log file I created thanks to the people of this forum:

Error from cURL: Error [7]: couldn't connect to host UPS RESPONSE:

 

I posted a support ticket with my host and I got back:

 

CURL support was enabled in the server. You can verify this by the url http://66.118.171.120/phpinfo.php. Please do check and let us know if you need any further assistance.

 

with the php ini file:

Am I asking the right question or should I pack it in and move to another host? This is the last thing I need to get done before this cart is done and it's killing me.

True, cURL is supported so it is not clear why this happening. We have seen that kind of time-outs with GoDaddy where you have to use special settings in the setup of cURL (in the upsxml.php shipping file) to go through a proxy they have set up for https connections.

 

So perhaps you should ask if there is any special you need to do for https connections.
