bigjat69
hey, i just recently did a database restore, but the £ sign has disapeared and a ? has appeared in its place. does anyone know why this would have happened? have you checked the currency symbol in the admin section? I would advise you reset it there, update and hopefully it should come out again. regards, web-junkies
djmonkey1
It's probably caused by a conflict between the encoding used in your database and whatever your CHARSET is set to in your store. For instance osCommerce 2.2, by default, uses a CHARSET of ISO 8859-1. However this character set is outdated; many hosts set UTF-8 as the default encoding for their databases. I actually have this scenario in my sandbox site (ISO 8859-1 for the website but UTF-8 for the database) and have seen the pound sterling symbol do exactly what you've described, turn into a question mark. Do, or do not. There is no try. Order Editor 5.0.6 "Ultra Violet" is now available! For support or to post comments, suggestions, etc, please visit the Order Editor support thread.
